Hello Everyone, This is my first week using myfitnesspal and I am loving it. I think I have hit a plateau in my weight loss and it is very hard to keep working out when I get no results. I am hoping this site can give me suggestions and will help me monitor my calories and food intake helping me get past this slump.
Good Luck Everyone!

Viewing your profile it indicates you only want to lose 1.4 pounds?????????? Hard to grasp that as a goal for some of us here as we are dealing with 20-200 pound losses. So what type of plateau have you hit? Maybe you have been at this prior to MPF and lost more weight and struggling to lose the last 5 lbs. Provide more detail for more input. As for me, in losing 40+ pounds, the plateau was certainly a disappointment only to find out I should be eating MORE rather than less than what I was. The main thing I found in the plateau stage was to MIX IT UP; meaning to eat more, try difficult types of exercise as different levels of difficulties.........just mix it up. Hope this helps, but MFP folks can help more if you provide more info yourself.0

I remember when I was starting to work out again, I actually gained weight and was very down and didn't want to cotinue. Stick with it, it goes away. From what I read on here your muscles retain water, but that will go away (anyone correct me if I'm wrong). I guess bottom line, it goes away, stick with it and you will see results. Good Luck!!!0

I don't want to get discouraged therefore I set one small goal and then work on that. Then I make another goal and work on that one. I need to accomplish the goal other wise I give up. Guess everyone is different on how they work on things therefore your judgement on my profile is inaccurate. I am proud of you that you lost so much weight and can set your goal to a large amount of weight loss and stick to it not everyone is that way. I have been working out for years now and have lost weight and changed my diet many times hence the fact that I signed up for MPF trying to find another way to keep up my success I have had. However the last 8ish months i have not been able to lose weight or inches (plateau).
Muscles hold water? Can anyone explain this? My scale breaks down my BMI, my water intake and bone mass. My water is always over the suggested mark. How do I work on this?
and Thank you so much for your input.0
