I'm concerned...my daughter ordered some from GNC because she has been gaining weight despite all her efforts not to.

    None of those things work, otherwise, pro-bodybuilders would take them during show season to get lean as possible.

    What works is a CALORIE deficit to lose weight..... it's as simple as that.

    Fat loss is in the macronutrient manipulation, not making deficits.
    Not in pills.
    Not in shots.
    Not in HCG bull****.
    Not in doing 2 hours cardio a day.

    Manipulate protein high, slightly lower carbs by 5-10g a day, eat essential fats.
    Wash rinse repeat till you get the desired effect.
    Lift weights 2-4x a week.

    You know what magic pill works for fat loss?
    Sleep.
    8+ quality hours.

    You don't have to tell me anything that I don't already know. I try telling her that there is no such pill and if there was, don't you think everyone would be taking it?

    I tell her to come back on MFP but she says it just discourages her.

    I am having her thyroid tested and hopefully her hormone level as well. She is a very active young lady. I know she eats well but possibly not enough. She's worrying me.

    Macro-nutrient manipulation? So you honestly believe a deficit is NOT needed for weight loss, lol? Sure, you can cut carbs to make a deficit, but "macro manipulation" fits into the same boat of bull**** as "muscle-confusion"

    Your next cut phase, simply raise protein, lower carbs and bump up essential fats.
    The magic is in the protein.
