Should I buy a new scale?

I have a digital scale that has a different weight every time I step on it. If I step on it 5 times in a row I will get a different weight each time. It's just a cheapy from Target. Should I buy a nicer one, or should I just stick it out with this one? The number is going in a downward trend, I just want to know my true weight!!
I'm wondering if I should buy a new one OR hide it in the closet except for my weigh in day wher I take it out, step on it ONE TIME (in the smae place as the previous week), use that weight and re-hide it??

Well, I think you might feel more confident in your progress if you got a new scale. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond (you can register online and receive a 20% off coupon.) They have a large variety of nice digital scales, and I found one that was within my price range once I applied the 20% off.
(Oh, and I had bought one from Target before that, and it showed me as weighing 60 pounds (not kg, that wouldn't even be right in kg). I returned it and got my money back.)0 -
Mine does that too sometimes although it doesn't differ that much. If overall it's going down I'd just put it away and weigh yourself once a week, and only once at a time. Keep the same position and it should be more or less accurate
If it's changing quite a bit still then i'd buy a new one though.0 -
I have a Weight Watchers scale that was about $30-40, and it does the same thing, (it's a digital scale) but each time I go on it, I'm always a few ounces off :S0

I've been considering a new scale purchase. I have an analog and I would prefer to see things more precise. I'll have to wait a while and save up though! My mom's scale however sounds the same as yours, AS does the one at my gym. I can get on, get off and get on and it will literally add .8 on. Its like WOAH that was a heavy 7 seconds I was off the scale!
I'm not sure what to recommend for you to do. The search on here is a great option for you because you could at least research what would be a good scale if you want to go that route!)
