I just started today and so far the calorie part is easy but I was over my proteins by lunch? I know several people who went on the Atkins type diet and they ate all the protein they could and still lost weight. I dont think the Atkins diet is sustainble long term but it does seem this diet plan is not very much protein?

MFP isn't a diet plan, it's a calorie counter. You can do whatever diet plan you want.
But you're right, MFP's default protein recommendation is low. You can change it in the settings. I changed mine to a 40/30/30(carbs/protein/fat) ratio.

This isn't a diet plan. It's a calorie counter. You can change the settings for your needs. It's essentially a tool to help with weight loss.

You're doing it wrong. MFP is not a plan, it's a high tech version of a pencil, pad of paper, and a calculator. You can set your macros and goals however you want.

Thanks for the info. I will adjust mine for the style of diet I am now following. Anything has to be better than what I have been doing which is eating anything I want at any time!
