Why are you spamming the forum with nonsense this morning? Bored?

ETA: Caps lock. It's too early to be yelling.

Are you saying to lose weight people need to eat more? Sounds like it.

Worked for me. Was eating 1300 cals, lost a decent amount then plateaued. Did some reading around, realised I was eating way under my BMR. Calculated my TDEE and upped my cals to be TDEE - 20% and weight started coming off again. Almost 100lbs in 12 months, not hungry, running 20miles a week, lifting weights twice a week and now have healthy sustainable diet, losing 1-1.5lbs a week on average. Eating more definitely worked for me.

(Caveat to that is I'm a data freak that measures, counts, times & tracks everything so had a known baseline to work from for both diet & exercise. However, in SOME cases eating more is definitely the answer, especially if they've just used MFP's default settings).

Eating more was the answer for me. Not "starvation mode" or anything like that. I never could consistently hit MFP's 1380 calorie per week default. My days were all over the place. Sometimes I'll make my goal, sometimes I'd be way higher. Very discouraging, didn't see any consistent downward trend in my weight. Lowered goal to 1/2 lb after doing some reading here. I'm hitting that target like a champ. Every month the weight goes down 1.5 to over 2 lbs. I'm eating more and being successful. Not to mention, fast forward a few months after upping my cals and I've been motivated and learned enough to probably hit the 1 lb per week goal. Still at 1/2 lb for now though

Hahah. Just realized one of my statements couldn't possibly be true. I mean I'd have to be eating less overall to be losing weight , but my goal is set higher :)

I upped my calories from 1200 to 1480 and quickly got out of my plateau, have continued losing ever since!

lol..I will engage..for the hell of it..

if you have metabolic adaptation from chronic underrating, then yes, you can eat more and start losing weight because your metabolism will come back to normal levels…

For the rest of us, eating more to lose will not work.

    AMEN! So many people:
"Im not loosing weight, I eat 1200 a day ....."
"Oh yes you're not eating enough, up to 1600 and it'll fall off"

    Bull S***!

Also the 'starvation mode' myth really gets me.

starvation mode as used on MFP boards = myth

starvation mode in relation to people that were in concentration camps or starving people in third world countries = very real.

Also, if 1200 is below your BMR and you damaged your metabolism and increased to 1600, you may lose weight because 1600 will correct metabolism and is said persons real deficit….< this is only for SOME people.

It worked for me as well. I'm not saying everyone should do it, we're all special. But I heard that your body will grab on to fat as a defense mechanism if you don't eat properly.
