hi everyone! I'm back on here after a few months hiatus, was a religious MFP'er for a year or two beforehand. It's been a crazy emotional last few months, which has led to a 10lb weight gain in my 18 weeks of pregnancy. my husband and i got married in september, got swept up in the holidays (and found out in between them that we're expecting our first baby!), and then my father unexpectedly passed away in january, before he would get the chance to meet his first grandchild he was so excited about. so it's been a rough month especially (thats when most of the weight was put on) and am looking to gear towards a HEALTHY weight gain from here on out. I figured MFP would be the best outlet for me.
looking to add a few more friends who like to stay in contact, potentially other mamas-to-be
also, found out we're having a little girl this past weekend!
best wishes to all,
mk

Congratulations on your baby girl!!!!!!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. That is so hard. I lost mine in October. He's watching from above !
My kids are 4 and 6 so I'm past the pregnancy thing, but can still help the 'eating thing' if you'd like.
Congrats again!

Congrats on the marriage and baby that's very exciting!!
I'm very sorry for the loss of your father, I lost mine 7 years ago but just remember he's always with you and is looking down on you and your family.
I don't have any children yet but hopefully within a year or so I'll be married and planning to have one. Feel free to add me I would love to help you stay motivated, I'm always up for making new friends for support or just to have someone to talk to.0 -
I so sorry for your loss. You've had so many ups and down lately it seems, but just remember 10 pounds at 18 weeks is still healthy!
My son is 14 months, so feel free to add me if you'd like. Also, check out the group "Fit, Fabulous, and Pregnant" here on MFP. So many wonderful mamas trying to stay healthy!0 -
I can totally relate on the emotional eating. February was a rough month. Baby sick, husband laid off. I did a lot of eating. But the important thing is that you remain focused and stay healthy for your little one on the way.
When I was pregnant, I was so upset at the idea I would be gaining weight because I had worked for over a year and had lost over 60lbs. My son is going to be 1yr next week and I am still working on the baby weight. 30lbs to go, but I am determined to get there.
Stay strong and stay healthy. We are all here for you.0 -
I hear you only have to eat an extra 200-300kcals in your third trimester0
