  • Does your 90 cal. figure in the eggs and oil that cake mixes usually call for?
  • Thanks Amber! Sound so good I'm making them tomorrow!

I just made these and plan on having one for a dessert/snack later CANT WAIT!! Im sure they are amazing they smell fantastic:love:
  • Sounds yummy, going to give it a try.
  • Just did the calorie count for the spice cake mix (unprepared) and the canned pumpkin. 24 muffins are 91 calories each. Still sounds like a really good snack for the calories, def going to give them a try.

Wow, just 50 calories - that's amazing. According to CalorieKing.com, 1/12 (a small slice) of prepared average cake mix is about 290 calories (without icing). I'm assuming that the calorie deficit here is attributed to no sugar, oil and eggs, correct?

I got this off Hungry Girl emails quite a while ago and they were 183 calories. Seems to me that 50 is pretty low. This is copied from Hungry Girl Website Can make 12 cupcakes instead of 12 pieces of cake. I made and one box with the canned pumpkin (I added two tablespoons or so of water) and it only made 12. Even if you made 24 of the mini cupcakes it would be more than 50 - wouldn't it?

Cake Mix + Canned Pure Pumpkin
    PER SERVING (1 piece, 1/12th of cake): 183 calories, 3.5g fat, 301mg
    sodium, 37g carbs, 1.25g fiber, 20.5g sugars, 2g protein -- POINTS® value
    4*

    Ingredients:
One 18.25-oz. box moist-style cake mix
    One 15-oz. can pure pumpkin

    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine ingredients in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly -- batter will be VERY
thick -- and transfer to a baking pan sprayed with nonstick spray; bake in
the oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. (Refer to
cake-mix box for pan size and approximate bake time.)

    MAKES 12 SERVINGS

I've made these and they're fantastic! The calorie total is closer to 100 than 50, though (98, I think).
