okay so i wore a long sleeve shirt to work today because it is in the mid 40s to upper 50s today here in florida...the shirt i wore was a thick long sleeve pink "ribbed" shirt, pretty loose - size L but way roomier than a L....anyway, when i was just standing at my bosses desk giving him some papers i "smoothed" it over my stomach and felt something sticky - look down and low and behold there is a huge sticker glue mark on my shirt from something my kids put on me that must have gone thru the wash a million years ago when i wore the damn shirt last (10 -12 months ago????) when it was cool last time here in FL....

anyway, i had a "spare" shirt at work i grabbed from target a few weeks ago to wear when i go walking at lunch in case i forgot my "gym" bag....the shirt is a merona ultimate tee in size XL with "thin" fabric...i throw it on and instantly feel like my "GIRLS" are yelling to anyone who wants to hear them, HELLLLLOOOOOO, here we are......it is not skin tight but is definitely not the kinda roomy shirt i'm used to....BUT i just went to the bathroom to check myself out in the mirror and was like DAMN look at that waist and that nice busom....HAHAHAHA....i feel a bit "exposed" but i think that is a good thing....it is a very nice red color as well that flatters my skin tone....

sooooo the point of my post is that even though i feel a bit exposed, i'm going to tough it out today in this new shirt showing my newer better body and work on losing the self consciousness i felt when i put it on.....i do not look disgusting and i should not feel uncomfortable....think its going to make me stronger today...more self confidence.....we can all use that.....so next time you have a chance put on a piece of clothing you didnt think you could wear and wear it proudly, with the exception of SKIN TIGHT CLOTHES, PLEASE LOL

Nice post. Makes you smile to read these things in the morning. Sadly I don't think any ladies would care to see my bosom in a nice tight shirt so I'll wear the looser ones for now.

It's kind funny although only losing 25 pounds so far I use to hide myself behind the baggy clothes. I recently wore a tighter fitting t-shirt and I recieved so many compliments I was a little undomfortable. I find myself looking at even my t-shirts differently. My t-shirts now hang from my shoulders instead of getting stuck in the middle of the gut and not covering anything. I might have to consider getting a smaller size - ha that to me is funny but a good feeling.

Now I look at clothes and think its too baggy, when before I lived for baggy to cover my gut and butt. Its a true mindset change for sure

Awww that is exciting! It was a bit of an adjustment for me to consciously decide to grab smaller sizes that didn't hide my stomach. Now, I wear a size small or medium and if it isn't tight fitting, I won't buy it! After all this work, I'm definitely going to show off. I rejected wearing two button up cardigans this morning because they were size XL and baggy. I have a size 8 button up blouse on and I want to show off my tiny waist, not hide it under baggy sweaters. It'll take time to get used to, but it's worth it once you do.

Good for you. I have been the same way. I still struggle with what I can wear and how it's going to look or be perceived. I still go for the over-sized shirts instead of anything fitted. It isn't until I try on something from way back when that I realize I look OK and maybe even pretty good. It's quite an adjustment!
