Fit bit and elliptical

I have a fit bit. So far the jury is out. It's great for walking not so great for running. It gives me active points when I walk fast or run but not when weight training and other things. My question is this. I have a treadmill and looking to get elliptical to change things up. Will the fit bit track my steps on the elliptical. Thanks.

    I've had a little trouble with the fitbit on the elliptical, it doesn't seem to always get my steps. It could work if you take really long strides or maybe attach it on your leg rather than your hip. Try it out at the gym before you buy.
