Wow, well done - those photos speak for themselves! My husband is a cyclist and has amazing muscles in lower body but looks just like your 'before' photo in upper body! Do you think he could just adopt your upper body routine and IIFYM? (understand you aren't offering professional advice here, just wondering what you think though?0

If I was cycling I'd probably take my upper body routine and do it 2 to 3 days a week depending on how determined I was to improve my upper body.
I'd also take the above ab exercises from my lower body day and work those into the upper body routine spacing them out.
If that made upper body day too long I'd cut out one or two exercises.
What I did with abs on lower body day was to put them every other exercise in order to get rest to do my next weighted leg exercise.
That was an overall philosophy. Make it so I didn't have rest but that each exercise was different enough that I could get all my reps.
This allows me to not take a break which keeps my heart rate up and reduces total time of the workout.0 -
Thanks! Now just have to see if I can persuade the OH to adopt similar :00

they probably did not know that you do 30 minutes in 6 days plus eating the right food? maybe!
job well done!0 -

Depends on his power to weight ratio and if he is competitive (racer). Cyclists do not want to carry much muscle weight up top, but simply need to be as lean as possible on the upper body.
Here is what a dream cyclists upper body should look like...

Amazing job! And it's good to see such results without having to spend 2+ hours a day in the gym.....I think you'll give others some hope! :laugh:0

solid work my friend! question- were you lifting before? just wondering if part of your success was already having a muscular base that 'came out of hiding' with the consistent exercise and diet?0

Thanks! I've bounced around my whole life, but this is by far the best I ever looked.
I did not think this was possible for me.
I hadn't been doing much weights and was doing a HIIT routine like 2 times a week in the before pic.
I decided to create a routine based on past experience:
- workout 30 mins a day (it's all the time I had)
- diet for fat loss
- resistance training for muscle building - do this in circuits so I try to keep my HR up at the same time0
