Letting go of number on scale

I guess I need to retrain my brain that the number on the scale does not mean anything. I am changing my workout plan and the number on the scale may go up from muscle gain. I have lost all my weight doing cardio i.e running and such however yes I hit the number on the scale I wanted but I didnt get the body I wanted. I am not tone at all and now I am changing my workout to be more tone. I am cutting my cardio and uping my weights and such. The number is going to go up and I have to retrain my brain to think that its not a bad thing. Its just scary to see the scale go up! Anyone else have this problem?

yes letting that number go is important...
But you wont gain muscle eating at a deficet.
If you are at goal weight but don't like what you see you are seeking body recomp.
This requires a lot of patience...
First thing I would do is take measurments...and pics for comparison.
If you eat at a small deficet..100-200 calories and lift heavy you will see results in all three...scale, measurments and pics.0
