How many calories in Pizza?

I've found so much conflicting information on this. We bought pizza at a local restaurant last night, and I made a rough guess, but now I'm wondering if I'm way off. However, I'm not about to try to figure out how much of each ingredient was on each slice, as I don't think I could do that accurately... plus, I already ate it, so that makes it even harder. :)

It was a large all-dressed (cheese, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms) on regular crust, 8 slices per pizza. Since it's not a franchise, they have no nutritional information available... anywhere. Really annoying... but oh, so delicious!

I logged 240 calories per slice. Do you think I'm way off?

A million per slice, on average.

No, I'm just kidding. I have nothing to offer on this topic. GL!

I had a plain cheese and tom pizza the other day. As its similar I googled a pizzahut pizza it was 250 cal a slice, I wish I'd checked before I ate 2slices in bed after my healthy dinner! I'm blaming my hubby, thankfully I went to the gym that day and had a few spare.

I think a dressed pepperoni pizza is about 300 cal but only you know the size (thats 12inch) and how much cheese and pepperoni was on it.

Try finding something similar on MFP that's a chain to get a rough estimate. That's what I do. I think you're a bit under calorie wise.

Its been a while since I've looked this up, But I think the amounts you find in many data bases are based on older information. I found a chain that had information on line for what I would consider a typical small chain. The name is Vocelli pizza. Here is a link to their nutrition info. I would trust the amounts they have listed.

How thick was the crust and cheese? How large was the pizza (16 in?)

16" regular crust, supreme usually between 300-350 per slice. 12" same stats between 250-300.

Go to google, type in calories in pizza, and it will give all the nutritional info in a generic slice of pizza. 285 cals per plain slice.

MFP is usually way off. If you are eating a regular size slice of pizza, calories can be anywhere from 450-610.

There is a NYT article where they took a bunch of regular slices from various pizza shops in NYC and had them tested. Google it. I always log a slice as 550-600.

It varies massively. My partner recently had a vegetable pizza that was around 600kcals, yet I've also seen them around the 2000kcals mark (bare in mind I'm from the U.K. and we don't generally get pizzas as big as in the U.S, they're usually 12" or smaller!).
