How old can a baby be, that they can be away from their mother for the day? One of my friends from High School is pregnant, and we have this thing (Thank you choir) that if either of us want to go to six flags, the other is an automatic. Like if she wants to go, I automatically get to go with her, kinda thing. I brought up to her the fact that I want to go to Six Flags New England this year to go on the new rides, but she's pregnant, and she'll be the one driving. How old can the baby be so that she can go with me to Six Flags without worrying about her baby ? They'll either be with my friends mother, grandmother or boyfriend. I know she wants to go on the rides too. But is there a "limit" on how pregnant you have to be before they won't let you on the rides ?

So she's pregnant and the baby won't be born yet?
Would NOT sit behind her on a rollercoaster.0 -

We haven't planned a date yet, but I'm not sure how far along she is.0 -
"She's pregnant" means she's pregnant.
If you were worried enough to post a topic about it, that should have told you that it's something that should not be taken lightly.
That's a life. Respect it.0 -
Assuming this happens after the baby is born-
Things to consider -
how well has she recovered from the delivery (some women take up to 6 weeks or so to get back to normalish)
is she breastfeeding the child or formula feeding?
If she's breastfeeding can she pump milk or does she need to feed the child directly?
the health of the baby.
My youngest is 18 months old now and I JUST started to feel like I could go a day away from her.0 -
Assuming the care givers are competent, the baby can be away from the mom for a day as soon as mom feels comfortable being away from the baby.
Just so you know your friend will be fairly torn up for a while. She may not feel up to an amusement park soon after giving birth.0 -
Babies ruin everything, including amusement park trips.0

Most rides are not recommended for pregnant women due to the forces they involve. If the baby is born, when it is a few months old, I'd just take him or her with me even if it does stop me doing as much. Your friend may decide she doesn't want to leave her baby once he or she is here so see how it goes and don't be disappointed if she changes her mind.0

Your best beat is to plan to go after the baby is born and to bring the baby sitter with you. :P0

I honestly think you might go solo this year.. There is no safe time in pregnancy where jolting around like a rag doll is safe for the baby. All the signs in Six Flags clearly state that if you are pregnant or have an injury you should not ride...at all. I would wait to plan the trip until after she has had the child for obvious safety reasons.
. I was not away from my son for a day until he was four years old. Also, when choosing between diapers and day trips to Six Flags..diapers win every time( and they are expensive as hell..especially since you go through so many in one day.) Your friends life is going to change drastically and her priorities will shift to the child, so you may want to renegotiate the intricacies of the itinerary for your trip.
Bringing the sitter along is an option but going to an amusement park with a baby kind of sucks too, for the kid more than you. The elements can be a pain ,it's either too hot or too cold. Sun exposure is a big thing. Everyone thinks it's cute when the kid passes out in the stroller in the sun...even with SPF 3000 and a hat sunstroke is huge problem.Children dehydrate quickly...much quicker than adults. The kid is going to want to nap and not in a bloody stroller the whole time. They get cranky...cry a lot...want to be home in their crib...in the quiet of home and not surrounded by loud strangers...and roller coaster sounds.Oh and stroller parking..not all areas allow strollers. No... I think unless absolutely necessary bringing a baby to is not wise.
I think where I'm steering here is this trip may not pan out quite how you want it. The priority will be the child. I would talk it over with your friend and maybe change the place until the mini her is a little older. That's my two cents..take it or leave it.0
