i once ate what i wanted to but didn't eat after like 7. and every night around 8 i would work out for about 15 min. well i did that for a week or so and lost 15 lbs. I'm super excited about this site because it keeps track of what i am eating as for calories. well my goal is to not eat at night anymore regardless of how many calories i have left. Before I ate dinner today I had almost all my calories left. Now I have about half of them left. I don't feel guilty because I don't want to deprive myself of things i truly want. However, I have not done all my workout for today either. So long story short, I want to not eat at night. Who's wih me?

Yeh since I started I've been doing that. Dinner around here (only since I'm not working) is between 5 and 6 pm. and i sware it's hard, but I chew a piece of gum if need be. I tell my kids...kitchen is closed!!! so n e thing to drink...get it from the bathroom sink cuz I can't go in the kitchen...not strong enough yet. I've given up on soda and white bread too...and my daughter just wanted some stupid grape pop that I bought for the kids when they ate pizza and I just wanted to drink it from the bottle!!! My mouth got all juicy and stuff :ohwell: but I didn't do it. Good luck to ya. if it gets hard for ya..def chew some gum...
  • I keep a case of bottled water next to my chair in the living room just so I don't have to go to the kitchen and look at the food.

Well in my opinion, it's not if you do eat at night or not - it's WHAT you eat at night... Long story short, if you have 5-6 meals a day (better to have 6) at about 250 cals each meal - it won't matter if you eat at night. Also, it should be 'good' meals composed of whole foods (no processed) and no sugar stuff, the most natural with low sodium, add in some sweet potatoes/brown organic rice and some veggies in each meal (if possible) and watch the pounds melt off!!

Exactly. My individual meals are bigger but that's for me I'm a big guy even when lean, but I always "eat" before bed. Not a full blown meal, but either a serving of quality whey protein or a couple tablespoons of honey. The body needs fuel to burn during the night as well and calories can't tell time. I've gone from 25% body fat to right about 16% doing exactly that, and that percentage is still dropping. Not saying anyone should change what is working for them just that eating before bed being bad is a myth, it's what you eat before bed that can be bad.

This may be a silly question but what do you eat closer to bed time? I am always hungry between 8-9:00 but I'm not sure I'm eating the right things that late...in fact, I know I'm not and sometimes I just don't let myself have anything because I don't have anything quick and healthy.

    I'd love a list of suggestions :)))

I have 250g of cottage cheese and 1tbspn natural peanut butter about half an hour before bed but I am trying to bulk up. For weight loss, I would just have half of what I have above. Assuming there is a calorific defecit for the day then all good :)

Cottage cheese has casein protein which is a slow digesting protein. Fats are slow to digest generally.

I will sometimes eat a stick of string cheese. Like someone before, I wil eat a few almonds. Most nights I will eat something before heading to bed. If I don't I am more likely to get out of bed and get something and then it is usually not very healthy.
