Bummed

So I did 2 weeks of ChaLEAN extreme no breaks, lovin every minute...got this pain in my back. Not a major pain but enough to notice something. Kept going another week and then my toes started going numb. I went to the chiro today and apparently my sciatic nerve is getting pinched. :grumble: Now I can't work out until next week. I know that's not long but I have a schedule. ChaLEAN for 90 days then training for my next half. I recently (about a month ago) lost 21 pounds in 8 weeks (Biggest Loser Contest at work) and am now stuck...I haven't lost a pound in a month so I really want to work out. Ok, I'm sorry I know I'm whining but my husband just doesn't understand why I'm SO bummed so I'm hoping someone out there will understand. Thanks for listening.

I can totally understand your frustration, but keep your chin up!! This is a good time to give your body a break from working out whether you want to or not! Keep focused on your calories. You will continue to lose weight by keeping your calories down. You can still do easy workouts, such as a walk outside or on the treadmill...be creative!! Sorry to hear about that pinched nerve! When I was pregnant my daughter sat on and pinched my sciatic nerve all the time and it HURT, so I know the pain!!0

THANKS! You know after just being able to complain for a minute and then going and reading other peoples posts I feel a lot better. Sometimes you just gotta vent, right? A week is not going to send me off into a downward spiral. I think that's what I'm most afraid of because it's happened before. A break becomes a quit. I am determined not to let that happen this time... We need a I've been forced to take a break but will not give up group.0

Oh no Dawn! I'm sorry. Has it been that way for a long time? Not that it matters, pain is pain is pain, I'm just being curious.0

This time you are way more educated! It doesn't have to become a quit! I totally understand though! That has been my fear too! I was in the hospital the week of Thanksgiving and scared it was going to throw me way off track! You are better off babying your back then pushing it. It will heal better and you will be back on track in no time! Maybe you can take this week as a time to perfect your eating habits? Look at planning in advance? How much sodium you take in? What about Christmas cards? Ha ha! I'm just trying to keep ya busy! I hate being laid up! Just know, this isn't the end. This is you taking care of your back so that you can come back and do this thing better then ever!!!0

I had problems with sciatic nerve, and walking on a regular bases has helped tremendously. I do Leslie Sansone Walk at Home dvd, have been since Nov 1, and I haven't had any sciatic pain since the second week in. Do you think your dr. would let you do these dvds? I understand being disappionted, but you can still log your meals and snacks, read the success stories, and encourage others, and it will keep you focused. One week to recover is better than not try at all. I hope the week passes quickly for you, and you are back on track with a healthy back in no time! Keep your head up!!0
