Confused on what to focus on... advice??

Hey guys,

I've been working on losing weight for awhile and I always go through phases of mostly strength training with maybe 2 days of cardio and then just cardio and then just strength training, I can't decide on a routine and I always get overwhelmed on what to do so I go through weeks of just not working out at all and since I'm still trying to lose weight that's obviously not what I should be doing, haha whoops!

I'm 5'1/5'2 and I weigh about 128 - mostly body fat, my legs are kind of muscular because I always do squats but still don't look toned - and my goal weight is 115lbs. I used to weigh 160lbs so my body's in pretty bad shape with loose skin and cellulite so what I'm asking is advice on what kind of training I should be focusing on?

I REALLY want to have muscle definition at some point but I considering that I need to lose fat first should I focus on cardio?

I have my eating goals set as 50%protein 30%carbs and 20%fat for when I was strength training but I've heard high carb is better for cardio so I'M SO LOST.

Thank everyone for any advice! :)

If you want to lose fat and keep muscle/have more definition, then you need to lower body fat percentage while maintaining as much lean body mass as possible. A small calorie deficit with plenty of protein in your diet, along with hitting the weights will help you accomplish this. Throw some cardio in the mix if you like as well, just to keep things interesting.
