    Set your macros accordingly. My macros are set 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. Go to "goals" on the homepage and choose "customized" and then set it there.

    I've been low-carb for over a year now. Attitude has improved, allergies have disappeared, energy levels have gone up... I've been doing c25k since last March, have run 3 "official" 5ks since September. I honestly can't imagine ever going back. The key is to pretty much abandon processed foods, stop trying to find substitutes for the foods you used to eat... Focus on fatty cuts of meat (ironically, they're cheaper, so you spend about the same), healthy oils like coconut & olive, nuts, cheese, etc. Reddit's http://reddit.com/r/keto/ is a pretty helpful place, and http://tinyurl.com/njq8gnt is a great script to show "net carbs" on MFP.

    I did Atkins in the past and recently learned I have a gluten allergy - i follow almost paleo/primal (I do eat grassfed dairy). I started a group for people like me if you want to join, it is mostly low carb - and don't let the name fool you - ages are now 18-66 :) Read the description and feel free to join if you want a non-judgey group. I can't stand the lectures against low carb! Been dealing with that since '99.
