Starting my New Year's Resolution

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I've struggled with some weight issues the past few years...not obese, but not where I would like to be either.

I'm not an avid gym person, nor do I do a lot of exercise. About 10yrs ago, I went to the gym a lot, but was also taking some supplements and nearly blacked out while working out. Since then, I haven't been back to the gym.

I have an odd schedule, and in particularly, an odd eating schedule too. I work in the airline industry and am often away from home, so my main nutrition comes from either in an airport, or food that is left over in First Class. I do tend to snack on junk food more than something healthy, and would really like to change that.

I'm not a runner due to an injury from the military, however I do like to Cycle around the Twin Cities on the many bike paths we have here during the Spring, Summer, and Fall when I can.

I know that's a lot of info for my first post here, but wanted to say hi. :blushing:

Haha that's not a lot! ^^ I actually love reading long posts.
Just the fact that you liked engaging in physical activity makes your condition better ^^
And since you have no choice on where your nutrition comes from, maybe you can choose to eat the lesser evil (like a chicken sandwich rather than fried chicken meal or sth like that). Also, junk food is hard to resist. What I do is I gradually decrease my consumption by dividing a bag of chips into several portions and committing to eat only one portion per day. I am very proud to say that I eat a bag of Lays for 7-8 days now (compared to 2 sittings from before). :-)
It will take a lot of discipline but I assure you that it will be worth it ^^v
