Hey guys, it's me again! At the binge game once again. ![ ](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/cry.png)
I woke up this morning and felt very hungry!
I started off with a whole grain english muffin with berry preserves/ honey and a hardboiled egg.
My body decided I was still hungry so I immediately (sighs) went for a handful of nuts!
Something weird came over me, and I plunged in the cabinet for a small bowl of special k cereal with soy and a banana.
Now, this isn't so bad, except I feel like even now I'm still hungry. Lucky for me, I'm going to be distracted and have a chance to run a little (by a little, I mean a little) soon. If it helps, I started my period, but I've been going on these little binges more and more in the past 3 days than I have for the entire 8-9 months I've been on my health routine!
Any tips on how to satiate my hunger?

how many cals do you eat on a normal day?
600 cals isnt really a massive amount, just have a slightly smaller lunch and tea and do some exercise...0 -
600 calories for breakfast? Seems about right.
Try more protein. Your b-fast was kind of carb heavy with the muffin/cereal/banana. Have more the one egg or some bacon or sausage to keep you feeling full.0 -
It's only been going on for 3 days? That's not very worrisome. Sounds like you're just hungry. Like others said, eating 600 calories for breakfast isn't a huge deal as long as it fits in your day.
Try eating more protein and fiber with breakfast. And fat is a good thing, so don't fear it. Especially fat from nuts.0 -
When I feel like a bottomless pit in the morning, I find that tea and water really help. I once read (who knows where) that it is good to drink a tall glass of water in the morning because you get dehydrated in your sleep. I don't know how true the reasoning is, but drinking more water is rarely a bad idea. I like fruit tea in the morning to feel like I am having juice, without all of the sugar.
If you hate tea (How? Why? How?), black coffee is very filling and very low calorie.0 -
Hi there - it sounds to me like you just ate sugar for breakfast - that would be why you're hungry. You can set your fitness pal to show you how much sugar you eat in a day as well (if it's not already showing). You just ate most of your entire daily sugar allotment in one sitting. That will spike your blood sugar, and then give you more cravings when it drops. You're not really hungry - you're having carb cravings.
Like the other posters said - try more protein, less sugar/carbs for breakfast and you will be full longer with no blood sugar spike (and no carb cravings!)
We tend to think that if we don't add sugar or eat 'sweets' that we're not eating a lot of sugar, but dairy, fruits, breads, and especially your berry preserves and honey - are loaded with sugar. You need to balance it out with protein and fat.0 -
I find that nuts can be a binge food for me. I either don't keep them in the house, or I buy 200 calorie packs at Trader Joes (since I'm less likely to open multiple packs of them).
Protein in morning keeps you filled up and energized the longest. Eggs or some lightly sweetened Greek yoghurt would be a better choice.0
