Drinking 1 liter of water before morning coffee

I saw this on that movie "food matters". Saying to drink 1 liter (4 cups) of water first thing in the morning, before your coffee, before your tea, before your breakfast..... kind of like a way to detox the body (or at least that's what I got from it)

Has anyone tried it?

    I drink about 12-20 glasses of water/day. The first 4 are before 9 a.m and before my coffee. I feel like I have started the day off well if I hydrate first thing. Life can get pretty hectic and the first thing that slips my mind? Water!
  • I read that you only need to drink 1 glass of water before breakfast, and wait 30 minutes before eating, otherwise you might get too full. I try to drink a glass of water before breakfast, with my vitamins, but I usually only manage about half a glass.

    They also say that having a cup of hot water with fresh lemon in it first thing in the morning (before breakfast) is a great way to cleanse the system and get it going for the day!! But yes- I would agree that drinking water first thing is a really good idea...I drink a t least one glass first thing upon rising and then about 2-4 throughout my morning coffee. I usually drink anywhere from 10-16 glasses a day. :)

    Nice to know.

    I've done this for the last couple of years. I start work at 7 am. I find that if I drink my jub of water (1.1 L) as soon as I arrive, I get almost half of my daily water recommendation out of the way. Then I drink 2 more Jugs full before I go home. However, I'm in the potty about 15 times from 7 - 3 Not sure if I'm detoxing. :laugh: Can't hurt :flowerforyou:
