Help Needed - Calorie Readings

Hey y'all, I need a little help with a bit of a conundrum I've got. So I recently purchased an elliptical - a Schwinn Journey 4.0 if that matters - and have been using it a bit more sporadically than I'd like. I would spend anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes on it, and the readings would say I'd burnt 150-325 calories in that amount of time with the resistance I was using. Just this weekend, I purchased a heart rate monitor - Zephyr HxM BT - to see how it compared. And holy cow, what a difference! It told me that this morning I burned 471 calories, when the machine told me I only burned 149. I was expecting a discrepancy, but not this large.
So, my question is does anyone know why the discrepancy is this large, and which calorie amount should I trust (and log for that matter)?
Also, for reference, I'm a 5'5" female, CW: 202lb, GW: 140lb.

Not sure if bumping is allowed, but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!0

I would say, if you have input your stats properly into the HRM, that it is more accurate than the machine readouts.0

Ok, that's kind of what I was hoping. Thanks!0
