Cereal preferences?

I'm looking to buy cereal but I'm not sure what kind is best. I'm thinking something high fibre and protein for the lowest calories. Any ideas?

I like my fruit loops but you probably wont go for that. Mind you I have 2 servings with skim milk and a piece of whole wheat toast and butter with bacon to get my protien in.0

I've recently been hooked on Kashi Go Lean (original). It packs quite a bit of protein, although it is mostly soy protein, if that matters to you.0

I love most of the Kashi go lean cerals (the berry crisp one is my absolute favorite). Try it with unsweetend almond milk and it truely feels like a treat.0

the kashi go lean crunch honey almond flax, cinnamon crumble, triple berry crunch, plus the original. all great. i tried the vanilla clusters and just didnt have the taste i was hoping for.0

Shredded Wheat or Cheerios

Also, Fruity Pebbles as my refeed cereal0 -
I do one serving of Grapenut Flakes and one serving of Special K Protein with 1/2 cup organic skim milk. This covers a good portion of my fiber, iron, and protein for the day.0

I love eating Honey Nut Cheerios in the morning w/ a splash of vanilla almond milk.0

Weetabix 2 biscuits with hot skimmed milk and a sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon. Porridge Oats, Nestle Maple and Pecan Crisp and Nestle fitness.0

Fruity pebbles or Captain Crunch. They both tend to cut the roof of your mouth but the sugary goodness makes it easy to overlook that fact.0

Golden Grahams :P but I usually eat my cereal as a snack. like when I want something sweet to munch on. Vector is actually a pretty good full meal cereal. it's a little high in calories but it's got a fair amount of protein if I remember correctly. And it doesn't taste terrible. But like I said, I'd go for Reeses Puffs or Golden Grahams any day of the week0

We used to get all kinds and then we realized that raisin bran is everybody's favorite (family of 5) and it's got a lot of fiber, so we just buy the giant bag every week. We also have granola to stir into Greek yogurt.0

I'm seriously in love with Vanilla Chex cereal! Try it (:0

I just have a cup of Cheerios and 3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk, ends up being 130 calories. Yum.0

For protein, GoGo Quinoa Puffed Cocoa Quinoa -- 22 g protein per 45 g serving (170 cals). Gluten free (not that I care), organic and vegan.
But my favourites have to be the Nature's Path Sunrise Crunchy Maple and Crunchy Vanilla. Also gluten free and organic. (I have a friend who does the gluten free thing, that's how I end up in those stores, lol) Not so great for protein but you get a 30 g serving for 110 cals.
I don't even eat breakfast, but I'll have one of those on the weekends around lunchtime.0 -
Multigrain Cheerios mixed with whatever flavor of yogurt I'm in the mood for.0

I really love Heart to Heart.....

lol.. as soon as i saw Captain Crunch.. the top of my mouth instantly became sore.. so true!! Also, love the Richard Simmons on your ticker... he's such a little ray of sunshine :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks everyone! I think I'll check out the kashi cereals. They seem pretty popular and I already love the bars!0

I make homemade granola. It is not low calorie so you need to measure your portions but it is very nutrient dense and will keep you full for several hours as opposed to other store bought cereals that have very few nutrients and do not keep you full at all. A little fruit on top is also yummy. My favorite recipe is this one from 100 Days of Real Food. http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2010/04/04/recipe-granola-bars-cereal/0

Save money: Aldi has a "cheapo" version of Kashi cereal, Millville GoLean Crunch, that I love. I have 1/2 cup with 1cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (also from Aldi) for breakfast. (Small serving cuz I have 2 snacks and lunch also during the day)0

I like all of the Kashi brand cereal's the best, but I also like Wheat Chex and Multi-Grain cheerios.0

This^^^^I also like corn chex with banana and vanilla almond milk0 -
I liked Special K - Protein. Yum with some fresh berries and either 1% milk or almond milk (sometimes the A milk made it too sweet for me).
I also likes the Fiber One Protein cereal - same thing (berries & either C-milk or A-milk).
But alas... I've given up wheat to help my tummy... so now it's a gluten free granola (about 1/4 cup) with corn chex and A-milk.0 -
I like the Fiber One 80 cal cereal! I've only tried the honey wheat flavor but there's chocolate too. I believe it's 10 grams of fiber which is pretty good.0

Make your own!
I mix and match favourites when I can - oats, rice puffs, nuts, fruits or make breakfast parfait jars to last the week.0 -
I LOVE crispy mini weetabix with chocolate chips... decent amount of fibre, not sure how calories compare to other cereals (possibly slightly higher), but they are delicious... and keep me full for quite a while.
Never mind best cereal ever.... possibly best food ever in my opinion!0
