I'm having a hard time getting enough protein through foods. Is quality protein powder okay to use? What kinds are recommended?

I use body fortress from walmart 15.99 30grams of protein and 170 calories.
I also get my protein from eggs, canned tuna, chicken breast(I buy frozen value pack 4oz each, around 10-12 in bag at Walmart for I believe 7.99 or something like that), and greek yogurt, and nonfat milk. Most the time gotta do protein powder to meet it. Lol
Edit: I also do salmon and maybe once a week thin sliced red steak meat for tacos. But the above is usually daily or most days0 -
Fish is really good on protein. Tilapia and Pollock are both high in protein, low in calorie, and don't have a heavy "fishy" taste... at least I don't think so.
You could also try Greek yogurt. I buy the single serving flavored cups that 80-100 calories with 12g of protein. Plus I think they're delicious!
You have a lot of options. Powders are great as a supplement, but I would still try to eat protein rich foods too.0 -
I eat chicken, eggs, beans, and milk and still have trouble meeting the protein requirement. Not a huge fan of fish and Greek yogurt.0

Cottage cheese, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, one tablespoon of peanut butter, beans.0

If you want to get a lot of protein make sure they're high quality. This means whey/casein protein, all types of meat, and fish. While nuts are great for you they are not a great protein source because they are not as high in biological value.
I hit 260 grams of protein per day so I know how to get my protein! You're going to have to eat a lot of meat, and a few protein shakes p/ day. Get some casein- 24 g of protein in 120 calories. I have two scoops before bed. Meat throughout the day and a solid postworkout shake0 -
I make a lot of egg and chicken based dishes. I get way too much protein just from that. Add in cheese/dairy and it is easy to eat those protein totals. I actively have to try and increase my fats to reduce the amount of protein I am eating.0

I eat lots of eggs, lean meats, cheese, milk, yogurt etc.
I actually hit my protien goals (sometimes going over) without powders or bars.0 -
Ultra Peptide 2.0 is so good, you'll literally want to throw a scoop right in your mouth.0

How are you having trouble getting sufficient protein? What about eating, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, tofu, and beans?0

most of my protein comes from chicken breast and bio synergy skinny protein shakes, if you're wanting to invest in protein shakes there are millions of different ones, depending on your goals you'll need to take a good look at the nutritional values to find one that meets your needs.0

If you set your diary to public we could make more useful suggestions based on what you're actually eating.
What's your daily protein target?0 -
Most of the time when people say this, what they mean is that they have a hard time eating enough protein because they eat too many carbs. Eat smaller portions of carbs to allow for more protein in your calorie allowance. Then eat protein or drink protein shakes and yogurt.
If you switch out egg beaters or eggs for morning cereal or eat meat and salad for lunch instead of a sandwich, you'll get a lot better ratio.
I easily get 140-170 grams a day in protein without shakes. Lots of chicken, lots of greek yogurt.0
