Canadian Newbie, Looking To Get Healthier

Hi all. I'm new to MFP, but not to the struggle for better health and to lose weight. I've heard good reviews of MFP, and I decided to try it out, because I really need a good health and food tracking structure and to reach out to form online friends in this health journey.
I successfully lost 75 pounds about 10 years ago, but allowed it to creep back on (with more). I am a busy professional about to turn 50, and I struggle with balancing career, family and health. I'm scared that if I don't get moving now (literally), I won't be around s to enjoy life with my family when I retire (or that I'll be almost immobile due to weight and health issues).
So, here I am, committing to taking the day by day steps, to move more and to eat healthier.
I'd welcome friends on this journey, particularly anyone who resonates with the same struggles (i.e. trying AGAIN to lose weight, mid-career worries about health, struggling to balance work life with health and weight loss). :blushing:

Good for you...this is a great place to be. I'd love to support you as you support me through this journey. I've had lots of ups and downs and LOTS of start overs...but the secret is to ALWAYS come back to your dream and work towards it. I met my goal two years ago and let life bring me 25 pounds heavier. So I'm back at my goal and within 10 pounds.... Can support your good food and exercise choices. The one thing I have experienced is that when you are taking the time to eat healthy food and take the time ( impossible as it feels sometimes) to exercise...well something magical happens... Your good food choices and your exercise supports a more healthy handling of stresses in our lives. You can't afford NOT to take care of yourself...
Looking forward to being friends here!0 -
