Calories in kefir?

I was wondering if anyone knew how many calories were in kefir when made at home - both the curds and the liquid that is strained? I realise it may be dependent on the type of milk used, but a ballpark figure would be good!

I would assume it's the same amount of calories as whatever ingredients you put into it. So if you used half a gallon of whole milk to make it, the finished kefir would have the same amount of calories.0

And if you want to calculate just for the curds, you can look up calorie amounts for whey, measure your whey, and subtract that from the total that you got from your milk.0

Thanks for that!
I normally just use 2% milk to make the kefir each day, then mix the strained whey with some yoghurt for breakfast in the morning (with fruit or granola). But today I realised I was getting too many curds and wanted to eat these as well - so I had a frozen banana with some PB2, then the whole curds and whey from the kefir. Not too bad as a smoothie, and I thought it would be better than throwing the curds away!0 -
Try MFP option to add recipes, include all ingradients and servings. You will know for sure that way.0
