I used to go all day without eating and then would have my tea which wasnt the greatest of meals and that would be about it. I drank up to 10 cups of tea a day .

I am now trying to diet and I am eating every 3 hours and having a healthy breakfast and evening meal and usually a healthy snack for lunch. I drink about 5 cups of tea aday and im drinking more water than I ever have, around 2-3 50cl bottles.

My first week I lost 3lbs, but this week ive put on 1lb :frown:

I have been realy good and not cheated and wrote everything down. I am on a 1200 calorie day and i tend to range between 1100 to 1200 each day and only once a week if that gone over by maximum of 50 calories and that tends to be because of my tea drinking. Everything is weighed with scales and logged properly so I know in not cheating myself with my food. I usually use around 250 for my breakfast and around 200-300 for lunch/snacks. My cups of tea ranges around 200 -300 calories each day. I always leave at least enough calories after my evening tea for 2 cups of tea at night.

I dont exercise as such because I cant walk without 2 crutches due to a knee problem and pain effects me 24/7 so dont do much especially on my bad painful days, although I do have to use stairs to go the toilet which is alot more than normal due to drinking more water.

Any suggestions on why I am not losing weight even though I am being so good especially eating regularly to keep my metabolism goung (this is what ive been told I need to do) ? (Sorry about the long post)

Do you want to lose weight?
    Or fat?

If you want to lose weight = muscle and fat, continue what you're doing.

If you want to lose fat, hire a trainer who's knowledgable in your situation and start working out.

Why you haven't lost weight is simply how your body adapts to the stress its put under.
If you don't use muscle, the body has zero use for it.
If you don't eat correctly, the body will store and use fat as fuel.
This is why people bottom out on low calorie diets and spin their wheels for years trying to lose "weight".

Hire a trainer who knows how to deal with special clients such as yourself.
Hire a nutritionist to set you up on longevity and not weight loss.
The fat will come off on its own once you realize this as fact and move forward.

    1. Open your diary
    2. Eat more
    3. You are probably holding onto a few lbs of water

Your body is used to this "tea cleanse" you were apparently on, and now you're back in the normal world, so your body is going to start to operate properly and retain fluids. I'd guess that you don't need gallons of water a day. FWIW, my daily fluid intake is 20oz coffee, 12oz sports drink, and 8oz chocolate milk, with a few trips to the water fountain throughout the day.

Is there a reason for this tea obsession? And what is there in this tea that makes it have 300 calories? It sounds like you have much deeper problems in what you eat , regarding health, than a few pounds more or less.

    Thank you for your replies

I want to lost fat more as thats what I notice more of although I am classed as obese as im 5ft 2in and started at 12st 3lb so weight is needed to be lost to bring me down to healthy instead of obese.

My tea drinking is just something ive allways drank, my family are big tea drinkers too. One cup of tea is approximately 44 calories. Semi skimmed milk and 2 sugars which I am trying to reduce, ive tried sweetners but I dont like them.

I understand it will take time etc but I was realy fed up with putting on weight although it was only a pound. (I am going to a clinic called bodyline who weigh me everyweek and I am taking the weight loss pills they provide) so putting on made me feel even worse. I know alot of people will not believe in the pills etc but I find it makes me be even better with what I eat etc because im paying (might sound silly I know but they have helped my friends lose more with the tablets than without)
