Newbie here, trying to be as accurate as possible with the diary. Actually down 14 lbs from a couple months ago, but some of that was before I started MFP. I know I could eat a lot healthier foods. But I don't think I can make too many changes all at the same time. Literally going to lose my refrigerator and a big freezer next week, so I'm trying to eat what I have without going totally overboard, before I have to throw out what I can't keep. Really wanted to lose another 6-8 lbs before I have a health screening in 9 days, but I think that goal cannot be met. Any thoughts, advice, or friends welcome. Very troubled times here, and I'd be grateful for any support.

I agree, that 6-8lbs in 9 days is not realistic (sorry!). You could find some 'miracle' diet to get you to drop lbs quickly, but then they will come right BACK!! Then you'd be back at the same spot you are in now (only more frustrated and losing motivation).
So my advice would be to aim for a max of 2lbs/wk It's a healthy and obtainable goal!0 -
To lose 7 lbs in 9 days would be against general recommendation - could you, probably - should you? I don't think 7lbs is going to make that much difference in your health screening (not sure what tests are involved but generally you want to be full of energy which you may not be if you push the weight loss) based on your estimation over the last couple of months - which is a healthy weight loss rate in my opinion you are probably expecting around another 2 lbs over the next 9 days - against general opinion I may suggest you do a "fasting day" which may help a little you would want to do this earlier than later in my opinion this may give you another pound of weight reduction in the short period and should be easily incorporated and healthy taking into account holistically. It sounds like you need a bit of a family get together or BBQ to clear out your fridge / freezer - I hate waste as much as the next person but carrying it on your person to burn off over an extended period is not really a great strategy. A friend may be able to store or take some of the goods temporarily?0
