They say eating half a grapefruit is healthy. I just did that and it put me over my sugar for the day. How can it be "good for you" if it contains so much sugar? (87 grams per half) and eating that tiny amount puts you over your sugar intake limit for the entire day?? Im confused. And mad that I ate it lol.

Don't concern yourself with sugar from fruit, unless you are eating it by the bushel. It's good sugar. Be concerned about added, refined sugars that are in processed food.0

wait wait wait, where are you getting 87 grams of sugar per half a grapefruit? I eat a half grapefruit several times a week, including this morning, and according to my log it has 8 grams of sugar.
That aside....I mostly ignore my sugar intake. I think I even manually increased my sugar goal because I eat fruit and was sick of seeing it red every day. Depending on what school of thought you ascribe to, you should considering watching ADDED sugars and sticking to a limit of around 25g per day added sugar versus naturally occuring (in fruit, some vegetables, dairy products).0 -
I eat a whole grapefruit (lately it's been daily) and mine only said 8g?0
