Joining again after a year :/

I lost my motivation last year and quit coming to this site. I've gained 14 pounds since August. My weight fluctuates a lot and it's super unhealthy. I am now my highest weight at 322. I feel absolutely horrid about my image and I need to stop hurting myself.

I'd like to have friends on here so we can help support each other. I don't want to lose myself again.

Hi Kayla, I stopped coming a year ago too and then started back up on Feb 10. I felt bad because a year ago, I was at the weight I am right now, meaning I gained 10 pounds over a year's time. I'm much older than you and my reasons for losing this weight are not so much about physical appearance but because I want to be healthy when I get older. I guess you and I both just need to stick with it this time.

So many times in my life I have lost my excess weight. Usually through the latest fad diet. You name it, I've tried it!! FenPhen, Didrex, HCG, Low Carb, I always think "Oh I've got this under control"... NOT! Because I go back to my old eating habits. So, this time around my thinking has changed. If I keep walking down the same sidewalk, I'll keep falling in the same hole, I'm going to keep at it this time and not think I ever have this weight problem solved. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Honestly, this time around, now that my attitude has changed, and I'm doing it the old fashioned (yet scientifically proven way of calories in/calories out) it hasn't be awful at all. I know that I can stick with this way of eating because it is normal and healthy. You can do it too, good luck to you.

I have not been on this site before, but I am starting to loose weight again (if that counts???) I know how you feel, up and down and up and down, over and over again. Time to get off the roller coaster. WE CAN DO THIS!!! There is one thing I do know, when you try to do something alone, it is too easy to give up. So we will stick together and get each other through this, OK? I am so disgusted with myself, I can't hardly look at myself in the mirror. So uncomfortable, how did I get here?:noway: I have to go away for a few day with some friends and I know there is no way I can be really good around them, but I will do the best can. When I get back though, I am going to get on the right path and not look back. Will you be there for me?

Ladies, do you mind if add a post?

Men are as susceptible as you are to dropping and restarting. The difference is that we are more likely to let pride get in the way thereby refusing to face the real problem. I'm referring to the one in the mirror!

Allow me to encourage you all and wish you success on your journey.

Good Evening Everyone! It's my first day on here. I just "happened" on this website whilst surfing the net. We all need support , so I'm happy to support anyone who needs it. Needless to say I also need motivation!

    Hi Kayla!
I also was on and off MFP for a while and my highest weight was 353. When I rejoined and recommitted last October I was 340. I've lost 63 pounds from my highest weight, something I NEVER thought was possible. You only fail when you stop trying. Don't let "failures" define your journey. Every time you choose to keep going, every day you work out, every healthy choice you make, contributes to your success no matter how big or small so keep going and don't beat yourself about not doing this perfectly. Remember, it's a LIFEstyle change and we all know life is never perfect.

Welcome back, add me and I'll be happy to help. I know what it's like to start at 300+ and literally feel like you have a whole person to lose. You can do this. I know because I'm doing it!

I also stopped using mfp twice. Now I am back at it again since I too hit my highest weight (228 lbs). I've been using it for two weeks and am already down to 219.

Good luck with your journey! Just remember, log log log. Even if you go 1000 calories over your limit, log it because your failures today will become your successes tomorrow! As others have said, it is a lifestyle change and life comes with ups, downs, and plenty of lessons(: Just keep swimming and you'll be okay!
