Is it bad to have more than 8 cups per day?

Absolutely not. Sometimes I drink more than 20 cups a day.
Eight 8oz glasses is average for most people but other factors can change it like your climate, how much exercise you get, and lots of other things.
I find this very useful to me. It's a water calculator based on a lot of these factors.

Actually, you can have too much water in a day. Too much water will flush vital nutrients from your body, including sodium & potassium which can cause muscle spasm/cramping, dizziness, weakness, etc. It's ok to drink plenty of water, but make sure you are getting enough sodium.0

Of course not! I drink on average 16 cups a day. Just as long as you aren't chugging tons of water at the same time, and spacing it out through the day you'll be totally fine.0

just check the color of your urine pale yellow to much water, dark yellow not enough, and lemonade color just right0
