WANTED: Active, food loving friends

I have been on this site a while, and am mostly in maintenance now.
I am looking for new friends who are physically active, with goals of fitness and strength, who are NETTING 1400+ calories.
Being that my total calories varies from 1900-2800 a day, it has proven hard to find others who eat similar amounts.
I am always seeking ideas for new foods/meals to try, so open diaries are preferred.
Please do add me.

I'm not sure if it's the tone of you post or your disclaimer which states I must be active but not too active and NET over some number of calories that you've decide is right which makes me feel like you're really judgmental and not the kind of person who would be supportive of me.
If this isn't true, maybe change the tone? Then we can be friends.
I'm active and fit, trying to drop a small amout of weight. Sometimes I net 1400, sometime I net under 1000 but have eaten 2000+ calories and am full. Sometimes, I burn 2000-4000 calories. Mostly I burn about 600.I'm sorry I don't fit your mold of what a person should be doing, but it's working and I'm able to perform highly in my sport (of climbing).0 -
Did not intend it to be in any tone, it is just the way I write online. It is impossible to get your true tone across in the written word, especially on an internet forum. The reason I refer to wishing friends netting over a certain amount is because I have an ED history and it can still sometimes be triggering for me to see really low diaries. It has nothing to do with judging, but rather to do with supporting those I feel I can support, and receive support from, with common goals and lifestyles. I am sorry that you got that impression of me, because that is not me at all. Good gosh, it makes me sad that anyone would take offence from a post that is simply a wish to find people with similar goals to myself. But, you know what? That is your issue, not mine. I find your response to be really unpleasant actually. Good luck in your endeavours.0

Oh well! Too bad so sad. Op is a very kind and supportive person. She just doesn't end all her sentences with flowers and silly happy facesike some overly sensitive types might do:)

I just assumed you capitalized NETTING to make it clear that you weren't looking for people eating 1400 total.0

Yes, that is exactly the reason I did it. to stress that I meant net, and not total caloric intake.
My language probably comes across as somehow more formal than I intend it. It is just the way I write.0 -

The OP wasn't directed at you personally and nowhere did she say people *should* be acting in a certain way. She wanted to connect with like-minded folk not convert anyone to her way of life. For what it's worth the OP is very friendly and supportive, and not the least judgemental. Just my experience.0 -

Sorry I misunderstood you, and I honestly wouldn't want to upset someone with an ED. Honestly. Your post plus the disclaimer in your profile:Also, I WILL NOT ADD/KEEP those NETTING BELOW 1200 or DOING EXCESSIVE EXERCISE DAILY. Seeing someone obsessing over burning 1000+ calories every day rather than focussing on doing it for fitness, stamina, strength and health, drives me nuts
came across as extremely judgmental about who is doing it right/for the right reasons. I read that and though "well, I exercise a lot and often burn 1000+ calories while focusing on fitness. Guess I'm not doing it right, according to her."
I'm sure you're a nice person as all of these people have attested, it didn't shine through (IMHO). But I do hope you find active food loving friends who you feel you can support.0 -
There is nothing wrong with burning 1000 calories + for fitness. I refer, in my profile, to those who are doing it for unhealthy reasons, in a way that is detrimental to their health and wellbeing. Regardless, I have seen many, many profiles with similar stipulations, and I see nothing judgemental about it. Everyone has a right to personal choice and I simply prefer to have friends who have healthy goals. Which is the gist of the stipulations in my profile. Of course, what I view as unhealthy, might not seem unhealthy to others and that is fair enough. To each their own. My focus is on health, and on continuing to keep my ED at bay and for that reason, people adding me, who are eating at the bare minimum or who are exercising in a way that is extreme and not for positive reasons, would not be healthy for me as it would have the potential to lead me back into old ways, or at least, to tempt me in that direction.
I would also suggest that you have judged me, based on a single post, to be judgemental, which is actually very unfair, given the plethora of posts on this site, asking for various kinds of friends, based on age, weight, goals and various other things. That is all I have to say on the matter. I simply wished to find more friends with common ground, not to have to defend my character based on a post that by all accounts, having asked other people, is not offensive nor judgemental.0 -

There is a difference between burning 1000 calories a day because you're fit and active and obsessing over getting to that number.
My friend with the highest calorie burns laughs when people congratulate her on them because it's just what she does, whereas for someone else it might be their total focus. There's the difference.0 -
Add me! Add me!! Lol! Hey there! I eat a minimum of 2200/day (I calorie cycle so 2200 is the one low day and the other days are much higher)! I am in maintenance and am training for a half marathon and lifting!0
-
Feel free to add me.
I'm losing, eat at least 1800-1900 and love food. Most importantly, all the food groups.
My diary is open, but I''m not great at remembering to log each day. I also don't log my workouts, except for making a note at the bottom of the food diary. I generally eat a flat 1900, but will eat more if I've been walking all day and I go over if I've been to the pub, but it's not end of the world. The weight is slowly and steadily coming off.
I'm doing 'New Rules for Women', swim and walk/cycle most places. Will be open water swimming again soon now that spring is here.0 -
You can add me if you want but I have a small disclaimer if you go back and look at my recent activity levels.
I have been on a medical restriction for the past four weeks or so and I have only recently be able to begun any exercise activity - which is strictly walking for the next two weeks. Because of this I also haven't been always logging my dinner as I know I will be within calories.
I do, however, always eat between 1500-2000 calories even just walking.
When I am in my full swing I work out 6 days a week - I run 5-6 days and lift 3 times or so per week. I eat a lot then, too. I love food. That's what I'm still 180 pounds and 5'10". I eat too much.... that's my problem lol. I just don't log my activity every day as I use a bodymedia band but it shows up in my diary and I do log in daily0 -
Thanks guys, I have added you all, that said I could add you, and look forward to getting to know you0

Hey hey! I think we could be pals. I too have a past with ED (but I have been in full recovery for a number of years now) and so I prefer friends with plentiful food diaries and healthy exercise habits.
A little about me - I run 3-4 times a week, and do hot yoga once a week for strength and meditation. I mix it up with other activities once in a while too, but those are my go-to favourites. I eat TDEE - 20% and do my best to always eat back my exercise calories. I just hit normal BMI a couple of weeks ago, and am working on leaning out a bit before switching to maintenance. I guess I eat pretty 'clean' most of the time, but I am not a nazi about it or anything. I really love to cook, and use whole ingredients. Food is just more fun for me that way! But I have my treats as well - I love me some wine and pizza. :drinker:
Anywho, hit me up if you like! You sound like you've got a good head on your shoulders.0 -

Added! And thanks. I am glad you have made a recovery and enjoy cooking as I am hoping to get more into cooking from scratch when I move somewhere with a better kitchen. That said, I also try and eat mostly natural foods, with some less natural foods thrown in, 80/20 basically. Look forward to sharing.0 -
I've already sent you a request but I'm posting here to say anyone can add me too! I love making friends here and I find many people eat very few. So I feel ya OP!0
