Hello there. I just started this and I'm very happy so far with it. I've actually been sticking with it everyday. I want to lose 30 to 40 pounds. I've been kinda obsessed with eating exactly or below 1200 calories even when I work out. It tells me to eat more because of what I burned off, but isn't it that they say to burn more than you consume? I'm so confused, lol; however, I'm sticking to what I've been doing and anxious to weigh myself on monday when it will be a week doing this. I have no friends on here because I thought it would be rude to invite my own friends and family if they didn't want to lose weight. However, I love to chat and hope to meet some nice peeps working on getting healthy :)

Welcome! I find this site very helpful, easy to navigate, and all of the participants to be sooo helpful. My advice? Post questions and read other posts and responses. A lot of discussions have been started about whether or not to eat the exercise calories. Read the responses and make your own call based on what you see, all good advise.

    Best of luck!!
  • Welcome to MFP. This is my second week on MFP. I am motivated and want to lose 40 lbs. When I first joined I was not keeping up with my calories/food intake. I was only logging in my exercise. I just started logging in my calorie intake on Monday and by doing so it has really kept me on track and motivated to eat healthier. It is very encouraging for me to log on daily and read the success stories. Great Motivation!

Thank you, Molina! It's motivation to see that you have already lost weight. It doesn't feel like I'm any lighter yet although I'm starving after almost 4 whole days, lol ;)

Thank you so much! How'd you get your ticker on your signature? I must be blind cuz I don't understand how to put the one I created on my signature, lol

Hello, I'm new on here as well and it does help. I have like 25 lbs I'd like to lose, I've been at it about 30 days and have lost 11 lbs. I didn't see much change the first 2 weeks but the last two I have. As far of calories there's soooo much to learn thats for sure. It's all about the right balance and good carbs and bad carbs and so on and so on. I read alot of books on weight lifting and the internet is full of info about it. I try to stay under in my calories too but I know that if I consume to little calories your body will start storing and you don't want that. It has alot to do with good and bad carbs and protein too. Just do alot of reading.. I just seen you said you got an answer.. lol.. what kind of answer did you get? I'd like to know too. lol thanks.. talk to you soon.!

Hi there, thank you for the advice. It's so frusterating at first. I feel really agitated and I think it may have low blood sugar or something. Who knows, lol! I was asking about the ticker for the signature, and I figure out that you just copy/paste that on the signature that I already had set before I made that. It's inspiring toknow that you lost 11 lbs in 30 days, Good job! I hope to lose 20 by Christmas, LOL :)
