How to record "juicing"

I juice frequently how should I record that? Should I record just all the fruits and vegetables I use?

I juice everyday and I write down every fruit/veggie I use and get the nutrition facts for all of them(per serving obviously) and then add them together. It's time consuming but worth it, especially if you make that same juice again, you won't have to enter them twice if you add them to your "foods".

I wondered this, too, and did some research when I started adding juicing into my diet (usually have fresh juice for breakfast and as an afternoon snack).

I use the same 3 recipes and just switch what I drink, so that makes it a bit easier. I calculated the calories for a serving of juice, calculated the calories from the fiber (4 calories per g of fiber) and then subtracted those calories from the total.

TBH, though, you could probably just add the food your juicing into your diary and know you're counting a little extra. For one serving of my green juice it only amounts to a 40ish calorie overestimation.

LOL! Me too....then I opened it cuz I wanted to see where it went. OP I would just weigh the veggies/fruits used and log them that way.

I just started and found a great website with recipes. It also has the nutritional value for both 'juiced' and 'solid' total ingredients.
On some recipes there is a difference of 200 calories from Juice to Solid (Juice being lower).

I juice too, but you greatly reduce the fiber content when you juice, I need that reflected in my journal. I'm going to check out the juicerecipe.com website to see if I can figure it out.
  • I weighed my ingredients and then used this site http://juicerecipes.com/build/ to calculate the nutrition. Then, using the my foods, created a food that I update with the each juice nutrition results. Looks like once a food is added to the diary it's values won't change if you change it in My Food.
