Also, I recall from an earlier Mens Fitness article a reasonably fit man should be able to do 42 consecutive push ups..

Test #3 was in Reader's Digest this most recent issue. It is pretty interesting to see what I consider a reasonably fit 52 year old man have troubles getting down and then up (oh, did that sound sexual or what?). I was pretty surprised that I was able to do this (50 yr old female) with no troubles.0

This. I think it's good to have a baseline to shoot for but as always it's about personal growth. Also keep in mind, as far as men's magazines go (and women's too), they don't sell magazines by telling people they're perfect. They sell copies by telling people they're not good enough and how there are 5 new tips to fix that. Yes, 5 tips that never existed before this issue.0
