Stuck and Defeated

I've been counting calories for about 3-4 years now and I'm at 1800 calories a day (based on my BMR); I am gluten intolerance and lactose intolerant. I watch my macros and usually do a pretty good job in staying within my limit. Currently, I waitress 2 nights a week (I use my pedometer I walk an average of 6 miles a night) and I work out at least 2 times outside of waitressing. I try to do a cardio and a strength. I try to pay attention to my heart rate when I work out - but even jogging puts me at 190...so it's hard to stay within at times unless I'm just walking intervals or doing Pilates or free weights. - with all of that I STILL have a hard time losing weight. I seem to lose 5 lbs then put it back on then lose it again. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm just defeated. I'm not looking to drop 50 lbs; 15-20 would be ideal.

Log every bite and swallow so that you know what is going on. Everyone experiences plateaus even when they're doing everything right. If your weight is going up you are eating more calories than you are burning, OR you're eating something that causes water retention.

your diary isn't open so can't really comment a whole lot..I could ask quesitons...

But weight loss being a mathmatical equation the equation is off

You are either eating more than you think and/or over estimating burns.

I bet when you walk into the kitchen at work you have a cheeky nibble on the spare chicken.... that's what it is!

I would say that you're eating a bit too much. As a guy, I lose weight around 1800-2000 calories/day (that's just me, everyone is different). Try back off your calories a bit, say ~1600. Also, maybe you need to try some other types of exercise that are a little more regular and intense.

    Hopefully you find this helpful.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll try cutting my calories back, that seems to be the general theme here. Lately I have been nibbling here and there because I feel defeated and kind of say "eh, screw it. I'll eat it."

Also, for workout, I use a heart rate monitor
