One year update

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and toot my horn. I've been doing this for a year now, and I've lost 30 pounds! I dug through my closet last night and pulled out clothes I haven't worn in about 3 years. Almost everything fits again!

For everyone who thinks they are losing too slowly... keep at it! Slow weight loss is still weight loss. Keep your momentum and spirits up, you WILL get there! It's funny. I had slowly lost about 25 pounds and no one said a thing. I lost three more pounds, and suddenly everyone I spoke to commented on how great I looked! It feels awesome now, but it's made for a tough year. A lot of times, it felt like a whole lot of work with very little pay off. I'm hoping to lose about 10-15 more, but I am not bothered by how quickly it happens now. I'll stay healthy and keep doing what I'm doing, and I know I'll get there eventually. Hang in there, everyone! You're doing great!

To me the scale is an added bonus if it shows a loss, I am more interested in being fit and healthy. It used to take me an hour to walk 3 miles, now it takes me 40 minutes :)

Well done to you - slow and steady always wins the race :flowerforyou:

Awesome and congrats!! I've lost 43 lbs in a year and it is slow, but It's okay. I have made changes, lifestyle changes that will last and made them overtime. For example, I didn't just wake up a year ago and stop eating fast food, in fact, I still have some occasionally, but over time I reduced how much I ate and chose healthier options, went grocery shopping more often and now do that reguarly and no longer feel the pull or temptation of unhealthy foods nearly as often. It takes time to make lasting changes to the way we eat and our activities. We will definitely keep it off if we continue going with what we've learned and continue making changes! What do they say about Rome not being built in a day or something? You know, I think it's great that some people lose weight really quickly, some have lost even 100 in a year, but for me, that 's A LOT of change in a short time and I'm hoping to retain and build muscle like I have been and reduce the chance of a lot of extra skin, seeing as I have possibly a hundred left to go. Keep it up!!

Exactly!! Though, I do need the scale to move, but since I'm doing strength-training and weight-lifting, it won't move nearly as fast, but I accept that. I'm doing this the healthy and slow way. Even if takes 3 years to get to where I'd like to be, it's okay. =D
