Focus T25, 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30??

Okay quick intro:

So I have about 20-25 lbs to reach my goal weight. I am going on a cruise in 46 days and would really like to get a good bit of it off and tone up before then not expecting miracles). I have no problems eating healthy (although I don't eat quite enough) and have kicked the soda habit and most refined sugars. I lost a substantial amount of weight before my last child (19 months) but for some reason I can't get the same motivation as before.

I go to the gym but I get bored with regular cardio (and I can't run) and do like to weight train but there are always a bunch of "meat heads" there and it is just uncomfortable to me.

Anyway, I've had 4 children and am one of the unlucky ones that has a nasty looking stomach and a "pooch" below my belly button that no matter how much weight I lose, I can't get rid of. I am the typical woman with my trouble spots being my arms, hips, and thighs.

I like the idea of short workouts and have heard good things about Focus T25, and JM workouts. Anyone have any suggestions as to which ones are best for a situation like mine. Also, I am a super visual person so if anyone has any before and after pics from any of these programs, I would LOVE to see them!

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

I haven't done T25 yet, but I have a friend that lost 43 lbs doing it, and my sister-in-law is down ~30 lbs. Plus the fact that it takes up so little of your day is a nice bonus.

I have only done the 30 Day Shred out of those you listed, but I love it.

I've done 30day shred and ripped in 30 before but never done t25. I am just finishing another round of 30ds and about to move onto RI30. I would recommend both of them, Ive had 3 children, each delivered by emergency section but I dont have that pooch anymore thanks to them. I also do another workout with them each day as I find they are not enough on their own but they are both great work outs :)
  • Which one do you think gives the best results in the shortest time? Or what about doing 30DS and RI30 together or are they too similar?

Hello Nina, I'm just getting started in the weight loss and exercise program myself. I have lost 13 pounds since December and have also looked at the different HITT programs available. I don't have money to spend on the CD programs or gym memberships and to be honest, I probably wouldn't go for the very reason you mentioned (meat-heads). I have had some really good advice from some of the members here at MFP and I'm very thankful to them. So I guess now it's my turn to lend a tip.

Since I don't have money or motivation for a gym and have had some equipment at home for years (dust collectors and clothes hangers...lol) I figured use what I have. One is a stationary bike.

I found a free video workout that I have really been enjoying by Adrian Bryant. He is just an average guy that is making it work. No fancy productions, made in his basement, everything is free.. I started about 2 weeks ago and I can really feel the difference. I haven't lost much weight from it yet, but today I saw the scale tip a little lower than it has lately. The biggest difference is in my clothes...my pants keep falling off now! ...makes me giggle!

Adrians web site is nowloss.com and he has a ton of videos for workouts you can do at home and without expensive equipment. Have a look at it. Let me know what you think.

Here is the bike video I use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06EmQ0qqW0I I use my phone to watch while I'm riding.

I have only done T25 and 30DS.......and my vote goes to T25.
No knock on 30DS, because it's a decent workout, but T25 just kicked my butt so much more.

I've done all three of these and I can't say enough good things about 30 Day Shred...seriously, I'm like a talking/walking ad for it. I'm in decent shape and doing the video really got me cut...as in...really....particularly my upper body (but you have to stick with it :) If you buy the video on Amazon, it's about $10.00 and comes with a free one month subscription of JM's website. This has a meal plan for the full 30 days (remember to cancel before the subscription is up!!) Or, you can get the video for free at a library. The thing about it is that it's just 30 mins, for just 30 days...you can do anything for that period of time. With kids, I'd probably recommend making some of low carb crockpot meals with plenty of protein, eat within your calories, and do the video. I'd also suggest some cardio/active rest...but with kids you're probably already getting that. :)

For cardio, T25 is good...it's quick and faster moving than 30 Day Shred. I've only done some of the workout for fun so have not followed the full program. You may want to start with the 30 Day and then plan on T25. If you have access to weights, after the 30 Day Shred, I can def. suggested Challean Extreme program (90 days). It has three phases, combines cardio and heavy lifting but runs about 40 mins.

    Good luck!
