Weighing yourself?

Hi, I'm fairly new (joined a while back but just started again with the intention of carrying on for longer!). I know you should weigh yourself at the same time every day to avoid fluctuation but how much fluctuation is normal? I can change up to 2 kilos in a day! And which of the measurements should you use, lower or higher? Its so tempting to just use the lower number!
I'm also doing a trial with slimfast so I get weighed by my nutritionist every week or so, but obviously not at the same time of day etc so how do I stop myself getting worried about what I see on the scales when it goes up and she writes it down?!

So most people suggest not weighing every day and for sure not more than one time a day. The main thing is weigh at the same time each time you get on the scale and in the same conditions. So first thing in the morning after using the bathroom and wearing the same basic thing each time (just undies and a bra or t-shirt or in the buff, or whatever you wear to bed). You can easily fluctuate a few lbs from day to day and what you weigh first thing in the AM is going to be much less than right after lunch or right before bed.

As for getting weighed and it being written down, you will still be looking for an over all trend not a steady loss. If you know it is going down when you do your first thing in the AM weigh in then even if the number is higher at your SF weigh in than at home, it still should be over all going down. It may go up and down a little here and there but it will mostly be due to other conditions (what you already ate/drank for the day, what clothes you're wearing...). Try not to stress about it. That doesn't make anything better. :)

Okay thanks :) I normally weigh about once per week but when it gets near to a weigh in day with my nutritionist I get a bit worried and weigh a few times the day before/that morning!

Thanks for your reply :) I shall try and cut down and make sure its in the same conditions when I do! When I want my "actual weight" e.g what I put in on here should I use the lowest weight I've recorded or the highest? Or as long as I use either highest or lowest consistently does it not matter?
