Goals and rewards

Do you do something to reward yourself for meeting a goal? I'm really close to my next goal, and I want to do something for myself. I'm not quite at the point where I want to buy a bunch of new clothes. Any suggestions?

Treat yourself to a spa day, maybe?
Or take time to do something you wouldn't normally do, go out to dinner with a friend, catch a movie, etc.0 -
I had a nice treat last weekend. Met up with one of my besties, got mani/pedis then went out for sushi and did a bit of shopping.
If you're not ready for new-new clothes, how about new to you? You'd be amazed at the nice things you can find at thrift stores and consignment shops for $10 or less.0 -
It might seem counter-productive, but you could reward yourself with a nice meal out or something you could buy new makeup instead of clothes too.0

My reward for losing 20 lbs. will be a pair of Tiffany blue Chuck Taylors. :bigsmile:0

Massage, mani/pedi, new purse or shoes or jewlery (those sizes don't change!).
Spend a little money on yourself and avoid food as a reward.
When I hit my goal I'm getting a 1.5 hour massage. Can't wait.0 -
I bought a new swimsuit for my first 10 pounds lost0

I don't really have a "goal weight" - my goal is to be healthy, happy, confident in my body & to be fit enough to do all the hiking & mountain biking I could ever want.
I buy new hiking/mountain biking gear when I reach my goals.
I'd say if you're gonna buy something, buy something that would make you happy, something that reflects you or what you love to do.0 -
I just reached the half way point to my goal (24 of 48 lbs lost) and I've bought myself 2 new pairs of jeans (nothing expensive, just some Faded Glory ones from Walmart) and 3 pairs of work pants from eBay (1 new, 2 used). I don't want to spend a lot since I still have a lot of weight to lose, but I was feeling dumpy in my size 16 pants that are now way too big and thought some new (or new to me) pants 2 sizes smaller would be a nice reward. And, man, does it feel awesome to be wearing those size 12's!!!!!0

Here's a list I posted on my blog a while ago that are fun rewards:
Sparkers Ideas:
* Buy yourself some flowers
* A pretty candle or bath stuff.
* New make up
* Start a reward jar…put in strips of paper each with a small reward and pull one out each
time you reach a goal. Or you can put in $ for each goal you reach and then have
money saved for a bigger reward when you reach a bigger goal.
* A new book
* New nail polish
* New jewelry, earrings
* A movie
* Going on a day trip somewhere cool
* Have a spa weekend at home just relax for a full weekend take the kids to grandma.
* Get scented candles
* Scented body oil let your husband (if you have one) give you a massage and just relax.
* If you crochet or knit - buy yourself some new seasonal yarn or beads for a jewelry
maker.
* New workout clothes
* New perfume
* New music for your workout playlist
* $20 to spend at Goodwill/ Thrift Store
* Some pretty for your house
* New DVD (movie or workout)
* A good flavored coffee
* New cool water bottle
* New gardening supplies (tools, gloves, etc)
* Keurig coffee maker
* Gym equipment (squat rack, new barbells, etc.)
* HRM
* Healthy Cookbook0 -
My friend would buy herself cute workout clothes when she reached a goal. I just bought myself some workout shorts - they were on sale for 8.48 - and a new goal dress, also on sale.0

I think instead of treating myself to goodies and meals (which I've done in the past and for myself, this doesn't encourage healthy weight loss), I am now going to treat myself to clothing, such as workout clothes and shoes when I hit milestones. When I hit 30 pounds lost, I'll invest in some cute workout clothing! I'm so excited #GottaKeepOnPushin0 -

Great Ideas!! Thanks for sharing!0 -
I'm getting myself a new pair of running shoes when I get to 145lbs I don't love the ones I have and 145lbs will the the lowest weight I've ever been at this height - and over halfway to my goal! - so I think the splurge will be warranted.0

Thanks for all the ideas! I think I'm going to get some new workout clothes or shoes. And maybe a scented candle just because haha.0

I do a spa day (at home with homemade stuff so I save on $$) on my rest day if I've done all of my workouts that week. Then I try to do something special for every 5 to 10 lbs. Massage, going to a play or sports game, buy something I've wanted like a new video game. I still haven't bought GTA V since that is my reward for getting under 140. I try not to go just by weight too. For example, once I'm into my size 6 jeans, I'm buying myself a Foreo Luna. For me the jean size is more important than the weight, so my rewards for that are bigger. But I still want GTA! Come on 139!0

Love the spa day with homemade stuff idea and every 5-10 pounds idea. Even the GTAV! I think I will have to look into adding things like this to my reward list...although my son usually ends up buying his games and I play his instead of buying my own..... maybe my own console instead of his for my bigger goals, lol...thanks for the idea!0
