I'm trying to figure out activity level. I'm breast feeding (pumping actually) & I'm hoping to get to 25 to 30oz a day. I read somewhere an oz of breast milk burns 20 calories. Does that put me at moderate or intense? What if I exercise on top of that? I'm 5'2 & 165 pounds, 30yrs old. My BMR is 1524. I have a very hard time losing weight while nursing. Please help!

I'm not sure on that calculation but have heard that breastfeeding requires 300-500 more calories per dayso you might not be too far off base. I wouldn't call it an activity, just figure your TDEE using your normal daily activity and average exercise activity. Then when you breastfeed, you can use a listing in the Food Database that gives you negative calories to account for that. That way as you wean you don't have to worry about adjusting your daily goal, just the amount on that food listing.0
