How do you all get your extra protein in to your day? What shake do you drink? What do you mix it with? Looking for some ideas.
Thanks!

For the most part, meat, eggs and nuts are my protein sources.0

Chocolate protein shake with almond milk, its how I start my day everyday!0

I'm a big fan of fat-free plain greek yogurt. Sometimes I'll add some frozen or dried berries to it for some sweetness. Also I love the Kaizen chocolate whey powder. I mix it in my coffee after my morning workout and it's like a delicious mochacinno! I'm drinking that right now actually!0

I was wondering about chocolate powder and coffee, I'll have to try it!
I usually do peanut butter, cottage cheese and lean meat for my usual protein. Then I do a balance bar in the afternoon for my snack and sometimes either chocolate or vanilla powder with skim milk.0 -
that's my favorite - "Tip of the Day"
When I'm really concentrating on protein, its 100% Casein with Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla. Even then I limit myself to one shake a day and get the rest from natural sources liks Chicken, Salmon or lean beef.0 -
Usually, greek yogurt gives me an extra protein boost. After my workouts, I have a scoop of Optimum Nutrition with 8 oz of water.0

I eat a lot of egg whites and try to eat some sort of meat every day, but not enough of either to meet my protein goals most days. I am allergic to milk products so I have to use vegan protein powder. Honestly, I get whatever is on sale, which usually means rice protein, but I prefer soy protein because it is much milder tasting. I usually throw a banana, some berries (strawberries and/or blueberries), almond milk, and some protein powder in the blender and have that.0

i love BSN Syntha 6 which has 21 grams protein. I mix with Almond Milk.
I just started using Body Fortress from Wal-mart. Very low carb with over 50 grams of protein from two scoops. Mixed with almond milk as well.0 -
I try to eat 130g of protein a day (I don't use shakes). I eat a lot of eggs, chicken, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and nuts. Feel free to look at my food diary to see my portions and numbers: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/seemichellerun0

GNC Total Protein - Harvest Berry flavor mixed with water & 1TBSP Flax Seed
Tuna or Chicken, Almonds, Cottage Cheese0 -
I start my day and sometimes ends it with EAS Advantage Edge Carb chocolate fudge drinks. 17g protein 110 cal and 4 grams of carbs. They are good and ready to drink, no mixing! You can get them in bulk at Sam's. I also eat cottage cheese and eat fish (sea food), it seems to have the most protein and it digests well.0

about 5 oz. of meat for dinner every night, and lots of dairy and nuts throughout the day. plain non-fat greek yogurt is my favorite right now. its so tasty with a drizzle of honey!!0

I see you eat a lot of Trader's Joe, what is that???0 -
I use the GNC 100% Whey Protein mixed with water before my workouts. Right now I have vanilla, but he banana flavor and cookie and cream ones are pretty tasty too.0

Due to gallstones (lots of them!) I have cut all animal fat and protein out of my diet until I have my surgery so it's a real struggle to get the protein I need because even nuts set my gallbladder off. I try and have soya but have just recently started with Maximuscle Sculptress shakes - 32g of protein per portion and 176 calories, so hopefully that will help. I was chuffed to see this post as any information I can pick up from other people will be really useful.0

I'm a huge Allmax Isoflex lover
they have amazing flavors..
my fave's are; Chocolate Peanut Butter (with real mini chocolate chips), Double Chocolate (with real mini chocolate chips), Chocolate Mint.
THEY ARE AMAZING!
Other than protein shakes which I drink 4x a day (one with breakfast, pre workout, post workout, and before bed) I eat;
Chicken, Ground Beef, Fish, Tuna, Peanut Butter (natural), Almonds, Cottage Cheese, and greek yogurt.0 -

Chicken, Ground Beef, Fish, Tuna, Peanut Butter (natural), Almonds, Cottage Cheese, and greek yogurt.
1 cup Silk Almond Milk
1 scoop Allmax Isoflex Chocolate
1 serving frozen unsweetened strawberries
1 Tbsp natural peanut butter
1 cup baby spinach
Swirl it all together and it makes for a huge, healthy protein shake. Good fats, protein, some veg - It's pretty damn tasty too.
I also eat lots of low-fat cottage cheese  Not a huge meat eater so this helps. Eggs, cottage cheese, some fish and chicken. That's about it!
Good luck!0 -

Does Greek yogurt have more protein than regular yogurt? I'm curious since so many of you specify you eat the Greek. If so, do you know if this is true for the fat free as well? Thanks !0

Yes it has more protein than regular. I can't stand the taste and consistancy though.0 -
I like my protein medium rare, grilled on a BBQ, and from a cow that spent his whole life on a pasture or a buffalo who roamed wild in the West...
Lol ok... that is my ideal protein. but since that tends to be expensive I usually go with protein powder (currently have Optimum Nutrition gold standard vanilla which I dont particularly like! but I mix with egg, peanut/almond butter and milk= more protein!) And I eat a lot of chicken, omelets, and turkey. Occassionally I like walnuts as well. And more milk!! plenty of milk!0 -
Can I ask the Isoflex users where do you buy it?
Thanks for the info on Greek yogurt and protein!! I do like it!0 -
I start nearly every day off with any brand of chocolate whey protein powder mixed with Silk Chocolate soy milk. It's awesome. They both mask each other's taste and it mixes up nice & thick. Oh and I eat a banana together with it....Mmmmm chocolate and banana!
I also frequently eat a protein bar about an hour before I work out. Lately it's been a Wheaties Fuel Bar. I also started bringing pre-mixed protein shakes to drink post-exercise. I found that WalMart sells 4-packs of one brand I can tolerate...for $4.22 whereas singles at the gym cafe are something like $3+ EACH! Anyway, I believe I have protein covered. LOL
One other tip: I picked up this mixing bottle called the "Blender Bottle" at my gym but you can Google it and buy it a million other places too. It's a hard plastic bottle (appx 28oz) with measuring marks and a very sturdy leak-proof lid. But the BEST part about it is that it has this little steel metal whisking ball inside of it that when you shake the bottle, it mixes everything together fantastically! They retail at around $6-9 (USD). They come in a variety of colors if you like to coordinate your accessories. Heh
