Soup Diet

So I know I have to eat 1200 calories a day or else it's really unhealthy. But what if I just eat soup everyday? Not that cabbage soup stuff, but like progresso, and store soup. Because they're all like 100 calories a can, and I have a big problem with eating too much and snacking. So I thought if I do my three meals a day, with just soup, I'd have more room to snack and not feel so guilty.
Thoughts?

Also, even the "healthy" ones are a LOADED with salt. Definitely not a great idea.

this. there is a lot of sodium in canned soup. that doesn't mean you can't make it yourself!
You still want to eat the right amount of calories per day though. Just because you are filling up on liquid doesn't mean that you are getting enough nutrients to fuel your body!

Make sure to read the label as I purchase some for busy days and its not 100 calories for the can it is for 1/2 and when i weight out the whole can it was more then the 540ml is says is contained in the can.

I get this, but there are a lot of other canned foods & frozen meals that are only ___ calories a day. Why not at least switch it up & have other kinds of canned/frozen stuff once in awhile [if you're set on that]? Why JUST soup?

There are also a lot of foods other than soup that are low calorie & will still allow you to snack a lot if you need to. I'm also a snacker, so I understand. You just have to experiment with things. 40-calorie bread, fat free mayo, turkey, cheese, tomato, & lettuce makes a sandwich that's 150 calories or less. I also like to snack on veggies as long as I have something awesome to dip them in. I like Sabra hummus &/or greek ranch dressing. Both are fairly low cal, & an entire plate of various veggies [I like sweet peppers, cucumber, carrot sticks, green onion, sugar snap peas, & tomato] is under 200 calories. It's worth figuring out how to eat foods you actually like in a low calorie way. This is a lifestyle change - you'll be doing this for the rest of your life, and you can't just eat soup.

    really?

Why not just eat real food in smaller quantities...

You need a variety of food for health...

    Protien/Fat keeps you fuller longer...

If you can eat three cans of soup a day for the rest of your life, go for it. But if you want to be healthy and enjoy life, eat real food.
