Online support vs. training partners

I think online support is far superior. It keeps you focused on YOUR goals. If others fail you don't feel alone.
I've always thought having a designated fitness group was bad because everyone has a life and will have days they can't train. Thus, you cant count on your support. My other gripe is that pelple often do the same workout together and you're all going to be at different fitness levels and have different imbalances and needs.
Thoughts?

I'd agree with you on this one. Everyone has different ways of working out and also different fitness levels. Also I'd probably say you'd push yourself harder when you're on your own because you don't care how much you work up a sweat if you're on your own haha!0

I prefer getting online support as well. I'm not a social person whatsoever. I enjoy working out alone. I don't even like taking my 5 year old with me on walks. When I'm online, I can choose when and where I want to find support and talk to people.0

One of the things I have learned is you need all kinds of support. Some people would not work-out except they have a training partner or a trainer waiting for them who they do not want to call and say they are not coming. For me, a training partner pushes me further and helps me feel comfortable that I am not going to hurt myself if I push hard.
BUT they more people you have supporting you, the better things will be. More people to be accountable to, so if one goes off healthy living, they do no pull you with them cause you got others to keep you grounded and on plan.0 -

well put
so you think if your partner fell off it wouldn't derail you at all?0 -
If I have someone I'm meeting to workout with, I go without fail. I don't want to let them down. For some reason, it's a lot easier to let myself down than a friend.0

I see positives in both. I like the forums and the diary here keeps me accountable but for my classes the "I'll see you tomorrow," that myself and others exchange on the way out the door is sometimes what gets me out of bed at 5 am cause people are expecting me and nothing like group activities to bring out the competition in me!0
