I am 22 years old and I am 5ft4 and weighed 11st7 and have now lost 6lbs making that 11st1 in two weeks, but i'm getting the vibe that isn't enough. I am at the gym for 1 and 1/2 hours-2 hours almost everyday doing 3/4's intense cardio and then weights on my arms, legs and abdomen. I feel like i'm eating healthily and I am struggling to see why I am not shedding the weight.
Advice?
Thank you in advance

You have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks - I don't see the problem...you need to patient. It took time to gain weight; it's going to take time to lose it!0

It's important to take at least one day of rest a week to allow your body to recover. Intense exercise every single day-especially 2 hours - can lead to excess stress spiking cortisol and significant water retention.
Also, weight train all muscle groups. If you have any imbalances due to neglect, it'll be obvious when you are satisfied at goal weight because you'll look rather disproportionate.
Regarding diet, choose the 1 lb per week weight loss option since you have only 25-35 lbs to lose and eat back about half of your exercise calories to ensure you lose 1 lb per week. Though, I suggest you cut back on the cardio to no more than an hour for 3 -4 days a week so you aren't creating unneeded stress which can mask fat loss.0 -
..... have now lost 6lbs.....
That's quite rapid for two weeks and probably not a sustainable rate for any length of time. You might want to think about resetting your goals for a less aggressive loss rate.... but i'm getting the vibe that isn't enough.....

alright, there is no need to be rude. I was enquiring because people had made comments that it wasn't that big of a loss and, as I said, I'm new to this sort of lifestyle I was asking opinions.
Thanks for your incredibly constructive reply though0 -

Whoever those people are, don't listen to them. You usually lose weight quickly in the first week (generally a lot of water) and then you can lose anywhere between 0.5-2lbs/week in a healthy way.
All you gotta say when people say 6lbs isn't enough is "haters gonna hate" and move on

I would recommend that you not weigh yourself a lot either. Some people really NEED to do that, but with you, my money is that it is messing with your head (which is very common). If you weigh yourself once a week and discover that you lost two pounds, you'd think "Yay! I lost two more pounds!" But it can be very different feeling like "I only lost a quarter of a pound yesterday." Or worse, "I weigh a half pound more than I did yesterday." when really it'll all shake down to a positive at the end of the week so long as you are consistently doing what you need to. Those moments can really drag someone down and just sabotage the whole process.
Not true for everyone, but just in case it's true with you, I thought I'd mention it.
And congrats on your progress so far!0 -

Welcome to the internet......people had made comments that it wasn't that big of a loss
It's a reasonable loss, I wouldn't worry about anyone elses comments.
To an extent I'd also caution against the scale as an indicator of success, although clearly don't know what else you're doing.
I view success on the fit of my clothes, and my running performance, rather than my weight. Those are both somewhat more tangible.
I'd also agree with the point above, weighing yourself too frequently will lead to an unfortunate relationship with that number. Personally I only weigh perhaps every six weeks or so, but as you're aiming to lose you'll probably be best aiming for no more frequently than weekly, and perhaps even fortnightly. Bear in mind that you can vary by anything up to a couple of pounds over the course of a day.0 -
Most of your initial loss was water & glycogen. A healthy loss is .5–2 lb. per week. Since you only have about 25 lb. to lose, aim for no more than 1 lb. per week.

You are doing fine. Just make sure you don't enter the dreaded starvation mode. You should only be losing 1 - maybe 2 pounds a week with your goal. Maybe you should slow it down a little. Best to you0
