So, I put out that I was debating on a fitbit vs a jawbone. I ended up buying the fitbit. I think I'll be very happy. Couple questions for user now. What do you have your settings on? How many steps? Calories burned? Active minutes?? I'd like to get the full effect out of my gadget. Thanks for the input

I just got my fit bit yesterday and I have it set to steps. It seems to be the best option for me right now as I'm still figuring out how to incorporate more exercise into my day. I plan on starting insanity this weekend which I'll probably change the settings to calories to see how I do. I think it depends on what your goal is. If your trying to get more active throughout the day try steps. If your trying to burn a certain amount of calories a day then use calories. If your trying to stay active for say a half hour a day then use the active minutes. From what I figure it will show the progress of whichever one you choose when you tap it twice.0

I got my fitbit yesterday too (the flex) and I have it set to do 10,000 steps per day, calories 3500, 5 miles per day, 30 minutes of very active minutes and sleep I'm going for 8 hours. Of course, I'm not sure if I'll keep these settings, but that's what I'm working towards. I already have 6,000 + steps, 1600 calories burned, 2 3/4 miles, my 30 minutes of activity and 7 hours of sleep. Hope this helps!
BTW, which fitbit did you choose?0 -
ResjGirl,
How did you set those options? I was looking to set my sleep and other stuff but didn't see where. Could be possible that I was doing it at work so I wasn't looking as hard as I could be :laugh:0 -
I have my goals set to:
8k steps
30 min active min
10 floors
2300 cal burn
My rest days I have a hard time meeting these that's why they seem so all over the place. Each goal is more for a specific day. LOL
2300 cal burn is my long run days
30 active min is for my rest days
8k step is for my strength training days.
10 floors is my stadiums (which I need to increase)
Its all up to you!!0 -
10k steps
5 miles
25 floors
30 active minutes
I didn't even think about setting calories, but those will come if I hit my other goals so I don't think I'll worry about it. And I didn't set my sleep goal or know that you could. I'm getting less sleep than I would have thought. I seem to function pretty well with six hours but feel tired when I get less than that. In the two weeks that I've had it I don't think I've ever gotten to seven hours.0 -
Well it's certainly possible, lol. It was a bit confusing for me at first too, but if you can find your dashboard you set them all up there. I have an iMac so the icon is in the top toolbar, i just click fitbit.com dashboard and they all pop up (or after you put in your email & pw)0
