Anybody feel like helping a noob out?

I have started working with small weights at home. I really have no clue what I'm doing. I am currently using 10 lb dumbells and it feels like I'll need to move up to 15 soon. I have a 15 lb kettlebell, which I am in love with. I also do bodyweight exercises. I'm kinda just flying by the seat of my pants here doing exercises I found on pinterest. Can anybody recommend an actual routine to use instead of just doing things here and there? Or point me in the direction of a site or blog that could help? I also keep seeing things about leg day, ab day, etc. is it better to target one area per day, or is it okay to do it all in one day? Total rookie here, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As for finding new exrcises or technique, YOUTUBE.
Bodybuilding.com and other websites have a ton of routines and suggestions for what muscles to work on for what days. Definitely start with research there.
If you can afford it, try a few personal training sessions. They can help you set up a plan and show you exercises.
I hope that helped a little.0 -
A good place I found is the Stronglifts 5X5 for women group here. It's a set, easy to remember plan and alot of fun if you're the type to compete against yourself like I am. They have a board for the program and explains everything.0

I checked out a copy of "New Rules of Lifting for Women" from the library....loved it so much that I bought myself a copy and I use it like a workbook. I lift at home, and my boyfriend already had all the "stuff" I needed to get started. I ended up purchasing a 6', 15lb bar, since the BF's bar was 45lbs and I couldn't even get it off the rack! I'm up to 25lbs on the bar now after just 6 sessions. We also used up some scrap lumber and built me a step to do step-ups, rather than using the stairs (I was whacking the 10lb dumbbells against the wall...oops!)
The book is awesome - very informative even if you decided to follow a different program.
If you don't want to invest in a bunch of home gym stuff right away...look for DIY fitness ideas online. There is a lot you can do with stuff you already have around the house to get started. I bet you will out-lift your 10lbs in no time!0 -
Nike Training Club App is awesome and has some good routines at all different levels.0

You can check out fitnessblender online or blogilates for some good varieties. Fitnessblender has a ton of types of workouts. I don't particularly love the formatting of it but it's free, there's so much variety, and it's a great resource0
