Hi I'm new on here and for starters hope I have posted this in the correct section!
I have been trying to get fit! I don't really want to loose weight or gain much (I know I will though) I have been trying my hardest to eat healthier and cut down on portions but I just wanted to know if anyone has any helpful recipes or tips they could give me, I am finding it really hard to ignore for sugar craving!!!! I'm such a sucker for chocolate and sugary treats, I've heard a lot of talk about protein shakes and wondering how they help etc? If anyone has any helpful tips for me I would really appreciate them!

Protein shakes are protein supplements.
To get more protein.
Because they have a lot of protein in them.
They might even fill you up if you mix in fruits, veggies, and milk.
Protein shakes do not help you lose weight.
Protein shakes will not make you stop craving chocolate.0 -
For me the sugary snacks and chocolate are my loves as well...esp pie or cake...
All I do is eat one serving when I really want it...(chocolate seems to be everynight)...but one serving @200calories is fine with me as I stay in goal.
As for protien shakes...protien does keep you feeling fuller longer. I personally don't do them normally...not sure what the hype is actually..I get lots of protien normally just with my food.
In the summer sometimes I will have a chocolate one...but it's got chocolate almond milk, protien milk, protien powder, raw chocolate and half a frozen banana..not as sweet as milk chocolate but it helps..0 -
Not trying to be rude here, but it seems you have no clue what you're talking about. Protein shakes DO help you lose weight because you can "supplement" your diet with them. Protein does not store in your body like carbs and fat. Protein helps heal muscles after workouts, which gives you the lean and fit look like most people desire.0

A calorie deficit makes you lose weight, regardless of what type of food you eat.
Protein is necessary for building/repairing muscle, but that does not equate to weight loss.
Protein shakes are supplements. I literally said that.
It seems that YOU don't have much of a clue what you're talking about

Read the ingredients label and know the source of the protein. I use whey protein from New Zealand because there are no harmful additives (like heavy metals and fillers like chalk, hormones, antibiotics, gmo's - all found in most protein shakes. ) Try to get control of your sugar addiction (I can say that because I had one too!) by adding fiber and protein any time you eat carbs or sugar. This will help you keep your blood sugar balanced and prevent cravings. Funny, when you get the right nutrition your body doesn't crave any more. Sugar (glucose) is the fastest fuel because it goes straight to your bloodstream - that's why when you are deprived of nutrition you crave sweets. Sugar is toxic, however and there is absolutely no nutritional value. And be advised - artificial sweeteners make you crave more!0

Lol, take it from someone who has a degree in the subject you are talking about "bro". Protein is SPECIFICALLY for weight loss. Haven't you noticed the content of protein in any diet supplement or shake that is being sold? Protein IS NOT STORED by your body, therefore it cannot be stored as body fat, which RESULTS IN WEIGHT LOSS. When you supplement protein as the majority of your calorie intake, fat will be burned as a means of energy for your body to use. Do you get it now? There's your solidity..;)0
