1000 calorie mistake

Went out with a friend last night, and we ate. A lot. I had preplanned for our happy hour but then we weren't able to go to that place. So I used the fact that our plans changed as an excuse to eat and drink whatever I wanted. I did the log of shame this morning and lo and behold it was over a thousand calorie mistake.
In the past, I wouldn't have logged it, I'd be too embarrassed. But that was then and this is now. I'm not going to let this stop me and I'm not going to lie to myself anymore. The only person I have to blame for my weight is myself.
So today instead of quitting mfp and deciding I can't do this, instead I'm recommitting myself to my goals. I may have to work a little harder this week to fix this, but I'm ready and willing to do what it takes.

I just preplanned my night, and as it will be a cheat night, the numbers are really bad. But - as long as we get back on track, nothing can stop us!

the important thing is you logged it .. in the past when i have done such things I then stopped logging !
Last Sunday i had a huge winefest , and this led to binging . Logging it gave me information on how i had to be careful next time , and also got me back on track the day after
One bad day is fine ,., keep logging , well done and good luck0 -
Great stuff that is exactly the attitude you should have. I always used to give up after a bad day but now I log it and move on. One day does not ruin a healthy lifestyle change. With an attitude like that you will be where you want to be in now time0

You can call it a mistake. I would call it a valuable lesson. You enjoyed your night (I hope), you have now faced habits that do not support where you want to be in the future, this brings you to a choice of turning point. So it was in fact a great night! One that had the potential to inspire you towards a healthier way of living.0

I ate 1600 calories at carls jr yesterday and went out Thursday night and drink several drinks.
I made the choice and honestly do not feel not an ounce of guilt. I had fun. Lol
Congrats on accepting it and keeping it pushing. No biggie. Just don't make it a habit.

A salad won't make you skinny, a drink won't make you fat. Just keep going.0 -
Knowing that there will be days that we are over on our calories and being okay with it is an important step to successful weightloss!

Thank you for your honesty, this is how you become successful. Life is not always carefully planned we will all face obstacles that we feel we could of done better. The real lesson is what you do after!0

The last time I was really active here I would not log a day like that. Then I slowly just stopped logging and have up. This time I am so logging no matter the shame! It has really made me rethink snacking with my kids that's for sure!0

There's no "shame" in it unless you give up - and you clearly are not and are being accountable, no shame in that at ALL. It's the only way to make it through the process without giving up. You're doing great.0

I ate half a large pizza yesterday and was 909 calories over my goal. :blushing:
I logged it. It happened and I'm moving on. I used to not log it but then I realized the scale kept going up and up. I learned that it doesn't disappear if you don't log it :laugh:0 -
