Hi, everyone.

My name is Dani. I'm 18 and a student at a university in Maine. On February 7th, I had a bad fall ice skating and completely tore my PCL. I opted to try recovering on my own, despite the surgeon's advice. Five weeks later.. and I still can't walk or bend my knee. I'm in an immobilizer and am scheduling reconstruction surgery.

I used to spend 2-ish hours a day at the gym, doing a mix of cardio and strength training. I was also on my school dressage team, played all the intramural sports, and was trying to get the tennis team back up and running. With all that, I was losing weight at a pace I was comfortable with -- and I didn't have to count calories.

Now I'm down. I can't do anything for working out, really. I need to start calorie-counting because I've been gaining weight the whole five weeks I've been sedentary, and I'm looking at 6-9 months recovery after surgery.

Counting calories seems difficult, so it's stressing me out. If you support me, I'll be more than happy to support you! So..add me. :)

Google "chair exercises". They have a variety of different types...zumba...aerobics...even strength training. There are also exercises aimed at recovery from injuries.

I started out with some of them due to my weight and painful joints.

It gets better. Use your recent & frequent lists. When you cook, use the recipe builder. Log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. If you eat at a deficit, you will lose weight.

I have been slowly recovering from a knee injury and I would suggest maybe try rowing and bicep curls. My weight loss has occured at a much slower pace as a result, but at least I have continued to see results. Hope this helps! Best of luck!

I didn't realize chair exercises were a thing! This is exciting! Thank you soooo much!
