Quite normal for those with lots to lose.
The loss rate will slow as you get to weigh less
Meanwhile just grab it, sooner or later you will have a week or more with zero loss, it will all even out in the long run0 -
Thanks, i dont mind losing less later on, this is a great boost xxx0

What's your cal limit? 1200 (which mfp seems to default to if you put in that you want to lose 2lbs per week) is too low for a lot of people.
As you say you have a lot to lose, I wouldn't worry too much though, weight loss seems to be a lot quicker for the first few weeks and will gradually slow down.
How do you feel? If you aren't feeling hungry and deprived and are managing to meet your nutritional needs, just go with it! It will likely slow down in due course.0 -
I've had the same "problem". I had set up my plan to drop ~2 lbs per week initially, but it's been 4+ on average.
I think I'm much more active than the "sedentary / desk job" profile indicates, so I'm burning more calories than anticipated. I had 100 to lose when I started, and I'm sure the rate will tail off. I'm just appreciating it while it happens, and preparing for the eventual slowdown.0 -
Can't really add more to what the others have said without being able to see your diary.
I must say, you have a very adorable baby.0 -
This is not unheard of in the beginning especially if you have a significant amount to lose.
As mentioned as long as your nutritional needs are meet and you are not a seeing negative impact on your health you should be fine...inevitably your rate of loss is bound to slow down.
General recommendations for weekly weight loss goals should be based on a number of factors, the main one of which is how much weight you have to lose. The more weight that you have to lose the less severe the negative impact of being at a calorie deficit will have generally (see below for examples).
As a rule of thumb, the following weekly targets would give a balance between minimizing these negative side effects and seeing a reasonable weekly weight loss:
More than 75 lbs: 2 lbs/week
40-75 lbs: 1.5 lbs/week
10-40 lbs: 1 lb/week
Less than 10 lbs: 0.5 lb/week
Obviously, the deficit that is right for you will depend on your personal circumstances and how well you deal with the deficit. For example, for someone who is morbidly obese, the health benefits of getting the weight off quickly will often outweigh the possible negative impact and, as such, a higher than 2 lb a week deficit may well be appropriate.
The majority of information was taken from this link which is a great method of setting up your nutritional goals...

I think because im having treats i dont feel like i should be losing weight, MfP is awesome
